yo guys.
i remember these gemini pt1000's from the early days and remember them being regarded reletively highly as far as non technics went.
does anyone have direct knowledge of this model of deck?
im looking for info on:
1. sturdiness of platter? (similar to the pt2000's? - i remembe rthese being not too bad).
2. motor strength?
3. pitch slider feel? (rubbery like tech's?/slidey like soundlab?)
4. accuracy? do those strobe dots move around or stay still in the same way that techs do?
the reason i ask is that a friend wants some decks and these are quite cheap on ebay. technics are out of the question due to his budget, and vestax tend to be the ugly pdx2000's or the more hard to come by and expensive upright battle decks of their previous range.
the pt1000's look a little more sophisticated seeing as they try to look like technics 1210's.
hope someone can help. |

...I made the mistake of buying gemini gear way back in the day when I was first starting and had a mobile DJ business. I'll never make that mistake again. If you're looking disposable gear, I guess it'll work. |

| DJChrisB I have to agree my first mixer I had for my mobile business was a Gemini it never lasted to long so switch to Behringer and was much happier until switch to a Pioneer mixer that I loved more until I switched to Korg Zero 8 that I'm still trying learn all bells and whistle of it. If Gemini was only mixer around I would crap in my pants before ever think of it. |
