radar, which has seen many applications and derivations since its invention

I thought the modern internet was created for the exchange of information for research universities.

anyway, satellite technology is by far the greatest military technology with civilian applications.

actually no. Yes i have seen it, but the information is still true. No other weapon is copied more then the AK-47, a majority of them illegally. More people have died from a 7.62MM round then any other weapon.

Except you know, a sword or a spear.

P.S. Greatest invention is gunpowder. It is the precursor to pretty much any warfare beyond the rocks and sticks era. Its also applicable to everything else - from gun powder, the idea of solid fuel propellant came to land men on the moon or blow up cliffs to build dams or launch satellites in space, or make pretty much any weapon we currently use today.

the discovery of gunpowder by the chinese is thought to be related to medicinal purposes. only upon the invention of firearms a few centuries later was gunpowder used for military purposes.

furthermore, dynamite and other explosives generally weren't invented for military purposes, but rather for mining and other industrial purposes.

here is the greatest military accomplishment

dead boy holding white flag to surender
cheers
saluyamo
sword/spear
greek fire maybe
cannon/gun
machine gun
tanks/airplanes
nuke

Tanks didnt really start off well, but they did change moden warfare

Near future I see, cloak, unmanned machines and maybe more development of railgun/guass gun etc. also nano suits

Distant future, anti-matter bomb (or something much stronger than a nuke), cybernetic implants, ion cannons etc

That's great. But it in no way changes or undermines my statement.

sure it does, in a thread called the "greatest military accomplishments" you said the "greatest invention is gunpowder." Well, gunpowder is not a military invention, so it does undermine your statement.

i, however, won't argue that explosives are incredibly important for modern society.
