Anyone know a good local place to get turntables repaired?

One of my Technics decks started sounding all distorted a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing it has something to do with the tone arm or cables, but I'd like to get a professional to work on it. Anyone know of any good places around here to take it? I went to Norman's Electronics once to get warranty work done on one of my CDJ's and it took them a month and they did a spotty job, so I'd prefer not to go there again.

Thanks guys!

I am getting my cdj fixed since it wont play cds. I simply called pioneer and found an authorized repair center near my area. (its kinda far, 85 and peechtree industrial)

they return it to me on friday, its been there for 3 weeks (the first week they were just doing the estimate)

so i say call technics and find an authorized dealrship around your area.

my repair cost me 300 bucks :(

Yeah, I got in touch with Panasonic (Technics) last week and the authorized service providers are:

-Normans Electronics
-Atlanta Professional Electronics
-D&S Electronics

I'm more interested to hear people's personal experiences with shops in the area. I don't necessarily want to use an authorized service center. Afterall, if they are going to charge me $200+ for minor repairs (Normans charges $145 just to look at it), I as might as well buy another deck off of craigslist b/c they go for $250 in great condition.

Mine is at norman electronics... my fee to just look at it was 69 dollars.

but the 69 dollars can do towards the repair if you repair it there. Say the total is 200 bucks.... after you paid 69 dollars for the estimate, the price to fix it will only be 131 dollars.

I will let you know how satisfied i am with their service after i pick mine up.

Well i just came back from picking up my cdj and i cant use it because they forgot to put the power adapter with my unit... major inconvenience since it is about a 20 minute drive away. This is even worst since i lost my credit card and i am low on fuel... grrrr

doubt i can.... honestly i am swamped on the weekends with work, too many papers and too much research to be done... Thanks for the opportunity though, i really appreciated it.

Norman's ing owns. They fixed my old 1967 Kenwood amp and did a hell of a job for a reasonable price and did so in a *relatively* decent amount of time. I went to their Norcross office.
