Matching Speakers to Headphones

I hope I explain this right.
I have KRK RP8s and MDR7506s.
Last night I went to mix at a mates house. I took my cans, he had a decent pair of monitors, but can't for the life of me remember what they were.
Anyway, long story short, I loved the sound of these speakers. I'd say they sound more like my 7506s in their representation of sound. The KRKs are so flat, it gets hard work listening to them. Sounds odd, but it's sometimes a struggle to concentrate on the sound they produce. They're cracking speakers, don't get me wrong. I'm no producer, I don't play out, I rarely record what I do, so I feel I'd probably be better off with speakers that I enjoyed listening to more.
I love the sound my 7506s make. I can never tire of their sound.
Anyone got any speaker recommendations for me now?!?! |

I will. Tomorrow.
Right now it's 1 in the morning.......
But he said they were discontinued a few years back anyway.
I was hoping someone who believes in the 7506s like I do would offer me a comparable speaker, for around the same budget as the RP8. |

| maybe that exact model may have been discontinued, but maybe the company has different, similar models that can be purchased still? i too am very curious because i still have no monitors (i just do all my mixing through my 7506 ;) ) |

| make sure you get headphones with low db and learn about decibel hearing aid that shows how much time someone can be exposed to a sony mdvr without getting hearing damage. Also, a lits oxygen free copper cable would be best to transmit the signal to the headphone |

| i find it's nicer to DJ on a set of hifi speakers instead of monitors. monitors are used for their flat response, but that's most useful when producing. a nice set of hifi speakers with a decent amp and maybe a sub will sound much warmer, and be more enjoyable to listen to. |

| the hifi system are the ones that have a colored sound and studio monitors have a flat response throughout the entire frequency spectrum (meaning no emphasizes on high or low frequencies, just a clean balance) what you hear through them is what exactly sounded when it was being produced. |
