How about just not gelling your hair like a Pokemon character when you've got a gig? Let it lie flat then you have no problem...
If you're really fussy about it, you can take a tub of gel with you so that when you finish your set you can go and tart yourself up to make a good impression when you're signing all the girls' later on. |

Never been that self concious but I do have a habit of wearing my Sennheisers tilted further back and they still grip my head so not an issue.

<--- Actually noticed that I'm wearing them like that in my avatar, but as you can see I don't have long hair anyways...
Should be the least of your worries though and most people in a club are too f*cked to care about a minor detail like that.

i use hair glue
then when i'm done my set i can quickly hop to the washroom, a little water through my hair and bingo, no more headphone hair
i've known djs though that did carry around a tube of gel for afterwards |

i never have this problem though, altho i wear headphones hours a day on most days. but i do use strong gel and quite a lot of it too. my hair isn't very short either, but i don't spike it up or anything like that though. :eek: |
