Apparently, Activision filled for a Trademark on the name DJ Hero according to this post from Kotaku.com right here.

I hope it's more like real DJing than Beatmania was... and that the soundtrack is better (i.e. lots of good EDM and less J-pop/eurobeat)

If it does become mainstream, then now is the time to INVEST in equipment and sell it to noobs on ebay :toothless. Wait a little bit and they might re list it on e bay, since all the equipment may be too challenging compared to the game. IE. just think how easy guitar hero makes it vs playing full sized guitar.
