Supernature comes to Heaven London in 2 weeks - March 7th 2008

After massive Demand, Giuseppe Ottaviani - The worlds No#1 Live Act @ The 2007 Trance Awards (Ahead of Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk) speaks Exclusively to Supernature about his music, his return and NU NRG..

1/
Hi Giuseppe, finally your coming back to play in London @ Supernature. Its great to have you!
Many fans were upset about you not being able to perform last time round due to complications with promoters. Do you have something special lined up for them this time round?

Well, I’m still really sorry about last time, I had no chance to perform there. But now I’m very excited to come back to London cause I have to push out all the energy I saved last time . Something special? Absolutely yes, I’m going to test my new track and the latest remix I made for Josè Amnesia!

2/Just recently you won the 'Worlds Best Live Act' @ The trance Awards. Knocking off fello Vandit front man Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto. How did it feel to win that award for the second year running?

The trance award it’s definitely one of the most important things that 2007 brought. This time, this award is the very special one because actually it’s the first as solo artist. I feel very proud and honoured about that… and it’s already on my desk .

3/Many people out there don’t fully appreciate the 'Live' performance, let alone understand what playing 'live' is! Could you give them a basic run down as to what happens when you play 'Live' and why its considered to be so much more intricate than a Djing set.

Technically speaking I have a background of each track which comes quite complete from the studio. But I’m able to insert various elements on that, I can control grooves and fx, I can decide how long each block of a song will be…. Then I play the main sounds of a track, like synth line or strings or pluck line, from my keyboard, on top the background.

Emotionally speaking I definitely have much fun playing my music from a keyboard with all mistakes I can do. It’s also great to change different elements of a track right at the moment, changing completely the atmosphere on the dancefloor. Then people reacts and music too! And everytime it can be different.

Beside that I play my music only, so productions, remixes, demos…it’s more like a concert than a dj set. Performing on a stage close to the crowd is always the best way to communicate with tem for me.

4/With so many live acts starting to pop up on big line-ups these days, what do you think it is about the Giuseppe Ottaviani 'Live' experience that makes you stand out above the rest?

I think that people who voted me at the Trance Awards have the answer. Personally I don’t know exactly, I just follow my feeling about electronic music, I just play what I love and in the way that I like more. It’s not because a fashion or a business strategy, it’s only because I like it and want to share the same emotions I get from that music with other people.

____________________________________________________________

5/The question on Everyones lips is: Will Nu Nrg be re-uniting at any stage to give fans one more chance to see where all the 'Live' brilliance began?

I’m quite sure now that there will be not a chance to see Nu Nrg on a stage anymore. Unfortunately I don’t think that Nu Nrg will take a place again on the dance scene.
__________________________________________________________

6/You've said in the past that Paul Van Dyk was one of your most influential Artists whilst making you name with Nu-Nrg and now - as a solo artist. What’s it like now working with and being along side such a prominant legend of trance music?

Paul ran a lead role in my past life as a DJ and then as a producer, and he still does. I’m influenced from many other artists as well, but he’s still one of the benchmark I have.
I’m a big fan of him since 1997 and working close to him now it makes me feel really proud and very lucky also for the chance I had to collaborate with him last year.
_______________________________________________________________

7/You yourself now have been labelled as one of the most influential trance musicians of this era, how does that feel being put up alongside the legends of the dance Music Industry?

Well, it’s a good start . Actually this is not my final goal, it’s just a good point were to look forward, starting to work on new material which should be able to make new smiley people and to make new friends, and transmitting all the love I have for the music.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVEIW!
Friday march 7th sees Aly and Fila come to london touring with their new Mixed cd on Armada records. 'Trance World 2'
So Supernature gets chatting to trance mega stars ALY & FILA!

1/Brendan @ Supernature:
Hi Guys!, we're glad to have you on board for the first big supernature installment @ Heaven London.
How significant has the last year been for you guys? Huge tunes, big
gigs, all of a sudden you guys are everywhere!

Aly & Fila:
we will always remember 2007 as it was our best year yet, but it wasn't all of a sudden, we have been in this scene since 2003 and we have been building our name step by step. What comes quickly, goes quickly :)

2/ Brendan @ Supernature:
Supernature will be hosting a leg of your 'Trance World 2 Cd' tour -
released on Armada Records. what can we expect to hear on that cd?

Aly & Fila:

Pure melodic trance + Aly & Fila touch. We have been working on that
project since long time, we finished new tracks for it, new remixes + reworks and all tracks were edited and reworked.

3/ Brendan @ Supernature:
'Offshore' is of your record labels - tell us a bit about the label and what we can expect to hear in the coming months.

Aly & Fila:
Offshore isn't our label, we are part of it together with the main man behind offshore music is Andy Prinz (Great Producer). Andy Started Offshore music, then we joined him. In the coming monthes you can expect the
debut artist album from Andy Prinz, heard already some tracks and it sound amazing, 2 new aly fila tracks sublicensed to Armada, also a new signing from Sweden "Akesson - Perfect Blue" Amazing debut track on Offshore and i think this guy has a bright future. Also an EP from a Paul Miller who is such a hard working producer. Still more stuff to be announced soon. So keep checking www.offshore-music.com

4/ Brendan @ Supernature:
Recently some of your biggest tunes have featured 'Jahala'. 'how long' and the remix of 'Why' have been on every big Dj's playlist. How did you guys come across 'Jahala'?

Aly & Fila:
We came across our dear friend Frode aka FKN, he sent me why and i told him that its a huge track so we remixed it and we had great success with it. So after this huge success we thought about doing a track all together which also worked really well. Maybee soon we would have a third single together. You never know :)

5/ Brendan @ Supernature:
You guys are certainly putting Egypt on the map for some quality
tunes! What sort of scene is there in Egypt for trance music?

Aly & Fila:
Trance music in Egypt is nearly dead, but on the same time a lot of
people likes this music, its a weird equation but i hope soon things will change and we will have an amazing scene, cos Egypt has a great potential.

6/ Brendan @ Supernature:
finally -If you could re-live one gig again, which one would it be?

Aly & Fila:
ASOT 300 without question :)
;) cheers
Lister Cooray
Factor B is a mad khunt.

Ottaviani is class, but I've seen A&F and MORPH a few times, and they have always disappointed me :(

That said, most people love A&F's sound, so I think it will be enjoyable for most people.

I'm on a bit of a clubbing hiatus anyways, only doing 3 more parties this year, and they are all J00F's nights.

I hope the next one is at Heaven, and it better not be at Hidden *blergh*
