Boston DJs: I'm starting an OPEN DECKS night

For those of you who expressed interest in this: great news!!!
The pilot night went off really well -- at least 40 people showed up. Everyone, including the venue owner, had a good time, so Freedom of Spin will be going weekly starting on Sunday, April 20th. (To those of you who wanted to come, but couldn't make it -- I'll see you there one of these days ;))
If you think the concept is interesting but haven't spoken up, now's the time! I'm looking for DJs to fill future time slots, so let me know you're into it by sending me your demo.

I've talked to the venue owner, and he's agreed to make the night 19+ :D
(21+ with ID to drink, of course.)

FYI, we only book DJs in advance so that we can do real promotion (in the form of flyers and such) and get some exposure for underground talent. We're trying to be more than just a "spin tunes for your friends" night :p
However, our roster is always open. If things go well on the 9th (i.e., good-sized crowd) we will be able to do this every week, starting in April, and we'll always be bringing in different DJs.
So, if you want to spin, come out and bring us your demo CD (we ask for demos because we want to make sure we get DJs who won't trainwreck every transition). Truth be told, we're basically relying on interest from local DJs to get this thing off the ground.
The next headliner may very well be you... ;) |
