Hey guys. I was browsing slickdeals and they had a 30% the Sennheiser HD-280s.

I've heard they're pretty good.

My HD 280's work very well and they're nowhere near cracking. My only complaint is I wish they could get a bit louder.

I used these once, felt like a helmet and sounded pretty poor.

lol. they do feel like a helmet especially when comparing with the mdr-7506's.
i have both, bought the mdr-7506's when the headband on the hd280's started cracking and i was surprised how light the sony's felt.
but i think they sound pretty similar. can't say that either one sounds better than the other.

I like 'em. They're not the most accurate pair in the world, but they've got great isolation, and they're fun to listen to bass-heavy tracks with. Takes a while for them to loosen up though - the vise-like grip is no joke at first, gave me a headache. Had mine 2 years and no cracking (yet). If you don't want to hear anything else besides what you're listening to (and not spend a lot), give em a shot.

I don't DJ with them though - MDR-7506s ftw.

Ouch, I paid 1000 SEK (= ~150 bucks) for mine :O
But yeah, they're absolutely good for their pricerange.
