+1
Should have worked more on gameplay and less on the visuals.

Or just more on the gameplay.

I'm not looking forward for the next one unless they develop some creativity in the game.

The replay value on the first one was really bad, i remember i finished it and left it to collect dust, i should have sold it one it was hot, the only reason i kept it is to show people how good the graphics are on the 360.

meh its a teaser trailer, gimme some gameplay!

I enjoyed GOW, but only playing cooperative with a buddy, this game is made for that

forget the generic story, its about the gameplay and graphics

This game is gonna be great. I love the 1st installment of this game.

How can someone not think this is "great"?

3rd person shooters are amazing on console, because FPS' on console BLOW! How the can you aim properly (and quickly) with a joystick?

FPS = Comp
3rd person = Console

PS Gears of War = Best game EVER MADE EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER

Yup, it's official - you just have pretty bad taste and/or have not played many truly good games. :p

That last statement in bold would never, ever have been made by someone who's been playing games for more than a year and a half. ;)

Ok it WAS an exageration, but I still think it's a great game.

Really really fun to go through on the 3 different difficulties with a buddy. So I guess I should be more specific, the single player alone is great. The multi-player was sort of lame but whatever.

We all know what the REAL greatest game ever is anyway:

POKEMON RED/BLUE!

The Wii needs to do a massive Pokemon game, based on Red and Blue. I mean you could even do the motion of tossing the poke-ball at the damn Pokemon!

Pikachu I choose youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!1111uno

I agree with pkc and rjt, despite not having a three letter name. Gears of war was mediocre at best. The whole duck behind cover thing was what people had been telling me was this new and awesome thing. FUnny, cause i'd just been playing rainbow six veags (a far far far better game). Took gears of war online a few times, and it was boring as all ing hell. Like seriously, I don't get what people saw in that game, it was just straight mediocre to me.

I usually see eye-to-eye with you on many things RJT, but I absolutely love Gears Of War, and this is coming from someone who despises a majority of fps games. My biggest regret about not having a 360 right now is not being able to play GOW online with all my friends. They keep telling me to buy one and that I'm an for getting a ps3, but I told them last month I'd buy one if GOW2 ever came out. Well... looks like I'll be getting a 360 in November :wtf:

edit: Lost Odyssey would be reason #2, i love rpgs

Not that I think you're all together too far off the mark, but what titles does PS3 really have in the works that aren't headed to 360 outside of Resistance 2 and MGS4 (which will inevitbly make it to the 360 anyway - albeit the proverbial "day late and buck short")?

:conf:

And if GoW2 is as shallow as the first, I don't think it will do nearly as well.

For one, I am TOTALLY agreeing with you on GoW. I didnt like it. I didnt like how it handled, and I hated how the game practically forced you to use its cumbersome covering techniques in order to survive just about anything. Thats purely opinion on my part, but I'm stickin to it. I didnt like GoW1 and I probably wont like GoW2, and yet I know its probably still gonna be the hot-seller for 360 next holiday season. And the multiplayer was fun for about....3 minutes. Got old, fast.

And to answer your question, well, one of your other posts stated what I was getting at really...the blu-ray. Now thats its winner of the format war, I think consumers will have much more reason to pick up a PS3.

With the games, well, I think theres a lot more hype for the upcoming PS3 catalog. You got MGS4, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 (I know, the first one was mediocre, but this sucker has been getting bitchloads of hype so I'm thinking it'll be different), Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII (I hate the Final Fantasy games but everyone else loves em and it will probably sell like mad), Final Fantasy XIII Versus, LittleBigPlanet, plus the unleashing of the Playstation Home, which will probably do a lot for the system. I saw 2006 as the year of the 360, 2007 as the year of the Wii, and now, with the format war over and recent price drops, I see 2008 as the year of the PS3. I should also mention Tekken 6 is hitting PS3 exclusively this year as well, but this wont mean much if you arent a Tekken fan like me. :p

I'm gladly saying that ALL of the consoles are performing extremely well and each of them is fantastic purchase on their own.
