Ricardo Villalobos is spinning a rare date on North American soil at Nuit Electronik in Montreal this March.
Villalobos' boycott of the U.S remains in full effect, but Canada haven’t started any wars recently so they get Villalobos for his first North American date since 2006. The party is a collaboration between MUTEK and Piknic Electronik and happens at the 2000-capacity venue Metropolis with Villalobos spinning a DJ set and playing live with fellow Chilean Dandy Jack under the clever name of Ric Y Martin (Dandy Jack’s real name is Martin Schopf). America, time to dig out those passports...
MUTEK and Piknic Electronik once again join forces to organize the 5th annual Nuit Electronik. The event focusses on Chile as the guest country and features very special guests Ricardo Villalobos & Dandy Jack. Villalobos and Dandy Jack will perform separately and as the highly sought-after duo Ric Y Martin. This all-night showcase is a North American exclusive engagement for both Chilean artists.
This event, presented by FIDO in collaboration with MOOG AUDIO, will be held as part of the “Montreal All-Nighter” citywide celebration of the arts and nightlife. Rounding out the bill in the main room are Chilean-born Poontz and MUTEK’s co-curator Vincent Lemieux. A second room will feature Che Vi Che and Bliss.
