my boss from work collects vinyls like crazy (mostly like rare rock vinyls). He wanted to go shop for vinyls at half price books and this other place called "Vinyl Edge".
Long story short, its located on Veteran's Memorial and Bammel N. Houston (off 1960) along the plaza in front of Kroger's...and I found a 4 Hooj Choons vinyls, saw about 17 State of Trance vinyls, Sasha - Coma (emFire label), a few Coldharbour and Armada labels. I have yet to go through about 19 or so crates full of mixed up genres. I pray that I find Amoeba Assassins. I have a feeling that bastard's in there somewhere, by God I'm findin' it.

It would be great to have a local electronic record store or a part of a record store thats electronic so that addict's of the genres can burn out and talk about the music ,collab, etc. As of now the only place is the clubs and here, tranceaddict, of course. But you dont really get a sense of local community in these places.
Yes it is some what understandible that records will cost around 17 dollars a pop, but thats it, they just dont have the volume as some online shops that will bring down the cost.
I come from an area that is much much smaller than houston and yet we still had a more sense of electronic community. This should not be and should change |
