Mandrake - Universal soul (Hemstock & Jennings/Digital blonde remixes)

Tune right here, both good remixes, I'd give a slight edge over the Hemstock & Jennings remix.

and the video below is a bad quality of the Digital blonde's remix.

Please note that this is the only H&J remix that I found to be better than a digital blonde remix. :disbelief

the digital blonde remix is absolutely fantastic IMO. maybe the best thing he's done. the hemstock & jennings remix is nothing compared to the digital blonde remix IMO.
it's just too bad that the digital blonde remix sounds really muffled/bad quality, but that's what you get if you produce your tracks on some 20 year old atari! :p
i just bought this on vinyl as i haven't found the cd for sale anywhere and i recently got a turntable because i didn't want to miss out on great tracks like this one.

True that!
One of the tracks from the more recent past that has stuck on my mind...

DB remix for me but the H&J remix isn't bad, just for a different purpose. BTW the second video is from WEMF, a festival here in Toronto that J00F played at... if anyone wants to hear a better version of the DB remix, it's avaiblable on his Forum since the set was recorded and broadcasted on GTG in August 2006.

Digital Blonde remix is just fantastic, never heard the HJ remix before that sample, but Rickys mix just pisses on it.

Although the tune isnt the best of quality as it was done on Rickys old Atari, bear in mind that it was only ripped once in 2003 by the old ripping groups, and that rip is shocking. I'd guess a lot of people here have that. I've got a setrip I did myself from a J00f set, and it sounds much better than that full rip, still not as good as it could be though.

I'm still trying to track down a CD of this one.

i have the vinyl in near mint condition and ripped it with a grado dj200i cartridge, techincs sl1210 mk5, allen & heath xone:92 and balanced cables to my soundcard (alesis io|2) and it still doesn't sound very good. i also had a rip that was supposedly from the cd and that didn't sound very good either. but other than the sound quality issue it's one hell of a tune. ;)

The Hemstock & Jennings remix is good, I loved some of their remixes such as the thundering Ian van Dahl - Reason (Hemstock & Jennings remix). Amazing that they managed to do such a great remix out of such a ty original.

However when it comes to Universal Soul, The Digital Blonde remix is by far my favourite remix of it. Indeed one of The blondes greatest remixes. It's dark and furious. J00f dropped it when he was here a while ago and I totally went nuts.

The Original Remix is incredible.
The Hemstock & Jennings Remix is pretty good but didn't take to it at first.
Have not heard the DB Remix yet but i'm sure it is a stormer.

The main melody in the Digital Blonde remix is also in an old tune. Ever since I first heard it I knew I had heard it before.

Btw what makes the remix so freaking good is also the acid bubbles which goes along the bass.
