Anyone work at Molson?

If your talking about the Molson Toronto Brewery, I worked there for 2.5yrs and may be going back this summer.
I'm assuming your talking about the summer student positions. I worked in the warehouse, and imo its the best place to be.
The other positions are in Packaging, Kegging (not many positions) and Brewhouse.
In the Brewhouse your working in cold, and damp conditions and also the smell you'll have to get used to. In packaging, your standing mostly for 8hrs and you only get 1hr in breaks.
The warehouse deals with the shipping and receiving of the product. Your first summer you would prolly be doing whats called pallet makeup which is basically going around making up orders that get shipped to beer stores. If your lucky you may get a few weeks of empty bottle receiving.
The warehouse operates 24hrs so there are 3 shifts. The worst in the summer is the heat and humidity. During the morning and afternoon shifts it is the worst with the temperature inside the warehouse being 5 degrees higher. The best part of the warehouse is the flexibility of the breaks. If you are working the lines (unlikely in your first summer) you get a minimum of 2.5hrs break, but on average 3hrs. If you are working in pallet makeup (which you will be doing your first summer) you can get anywhere up to 4hrs break. Now this depends on how fast you can build your orders. For the first month or so don't expect more then 1-1.5hrs break, but once you get the hang of it you can be taking 3-4hrs breaks in July-August. Pay is $14.11/hr (last summer at least).

I worked at Lakeport one summer and we got two 24s per month. |

I've worked with Pawel for a few years now at Molson :)
Bottom line: working in the warehouse provides very good pay for the amount of work you do (unless you're assigned to pallet makeup :nervous: ). |

We also got $18 / hour and had to rotate through positions - nobody was assigned to one spot for the entire shift.
We did work the 3 x 8h shift setup, rotating morning, afternoon, nights.
Labatt owns Lakeport now - so I'm sure things have changed slightly (unless the union interfered). |

Sounds like an alright job. The reason I ask is cause I got a call about a warehouse position today. I know Molson distributes MGD and Corona so did you guys get free cases of those as well?
Can you buy beer at a discount?
I'm a little surprised Lakeport pays better than Molson. |

Yes you get discount beer. No you cannot get MGD or Corona. |
