i have to go with 'Star Wars' on this one epi. 4,5,6
but the best of it all is
THE GODFATER trilogy
followed by
Indiana Jones |

considering that The Lord of the Rings is a BOOK and actually is in 6 "books" split between 3 volumes, I don't think it belongs in the same category of comparison with movie trilogies that were originally written for the screen (star wars, indiana jones, etc). This is important because while the book is one of the greatest stories of all time, the movies (other than Fellowship, which almost got it right) were AWFUL and completely failed to capture the important parts of the book, favoring the usual special effects bash instead of preserving the personalities of the characters intact from the book. Also, the book pisses all over everything else that's been mentioned in this thread.
The Godfather would win hands-down in the movie trilogy category if you were able to delete Part 3 and still call it a trilogy, and even then it's a close call because parts 1 and 2 are some of my favorite movies ever. In the end, I have to give it to Star Wars (and by that I mean the original trilogy, the new movies aren't Star Wars at all as far as I'm concerned and I flatly refuse to watch them ever again). |

Nice to meet you on Friday :p | true, it was still nice how every movie tied in with the older one, not plot wise... like everytime he would get called chiken, and wake up to his mum etc. |

What got me thinking of this is this site about the Sith:
http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/sith1.htm
I didn't realize how far back the Star Wars, Force thing went back...
after reading... I thought the Sith were actually pretty cool and Jedi's were a bunch of... well... soccer players!
(RAIDER NATION!!!)
ps... if you haven't figured it out, the raider nation is my safty wink until i find one of those happy things for it
