Marco V in Toronto?!
View this Thread in Original format

my girlfriend, a hardcore club-goer, which has been in the scene for many years has never heard of Marco-V. So when i told her that Marco-V emailed me this morning saying that he would like to come to Toronto and that he like like for me to get him a contact she told me that the Guv/Warehouse wouldn't be interested in taking him...

My question for all the members of this forum is this:

If Marco-V were to come to Toronto, at the Guv/Warehouse or Meow, who would go to see him? would it be a definite sell out crowd?

And, does anybody think that Marco-V is not Guv/Warehouse material or do you guys believe like me that he is above and beyond good enough to play in Toronto?

Anyway, thanx for the replies fellow Trance-Addicts...

ok honestly, i don't think it would be a sell-out at all, i think it would be far from it, just as your g/f never heard of marco v, i think its safe to say that other 90% have never heard of him neither... with that in mind i think guv/warehouse or meow would be a bad bad idea... in my opinnion, it would be better to bring him to a smaller venue, like system, that club is just made for a bangin set... well anyway, those are my 3 cents

You can count me in, but I agre...I don't think it would sell out if it was at the Warehouse...that place is too big. I would suggest somewhere like Atlantis...

Peace,
Steve :D
Swamper
Atlantis will no longer be having events that run far past 2AM closing - so all raves are out of the question.

If he's interested in coming to Toronto I'll do my part to get the word out.. but I'm not that popular, I'd need help. :D

A big part of the 'guvernment' crowd does not consist of 'electronic enthusiasts' that go out of their way to find out about new tracks/artists or what's going on elsewhere... They think their saturday night is the best in the world and that music is the 'newest' stuff.

TranceGeek was right in saying a smaller venue like system would be perfect... specifically Breathe Fridays @ System.. even though they tend to lean towards a house slant most of the time Marco V would stand a chance since he is NOT 'boring trance'....

I'm all for it... bring it on.

Well this is my plan, i'm going to talk to Brian from Meow today and i'm going to give him the Marco-V at innercity set so he can listen... If he likes it then i'm going to mail back marco and set up a number/email exchange...

i'm also going to look up the mail address for system sound bar and even Turbo (i've never been there but i'm sure its not huge inside there)...

Anyway, thanx for the replies, i'll keep you guys posted...

Doctor Trance had mentioned that they weren't going to use Atlantis anymore, I thought it was more a security issue as to why they weren't having parties there anymore...oh well. Good times were had there!

Definitely System on a friday would be nice. I love that place. Although I agree with Swamper, it's too progressive for the likes of Marco V.

Meow would be cool...

Peace,
Steve :D

swamper, i agree about the crowd at guv, u nailed it, but i guess meow/guv crowd is pretty much the same... itikia, i think you should keep marco v away from meow, seriously... i really dont think he fits in that atmosphere... i would imagine his set something similar to mauro picotto at system, which was just amazing, mauro kicked ass, and it was partly because of the venue...

Well it turns out meow's promoter should be getting on a plane as i wright this to the Dj conference in Miami... I just mailed Lifeforce industries (Turbo, etc) and told them about Marco's interest in coming to Toronto...

I tried to look up system sound bar's page but its under construction; does anybody have an email address for that club or something along those lines?
RuffRyda
wherever the venue is, i'll be there!!
Retepic
I would love to see him play in Toronto.

grafal
I would love to see that man hit the decks...I love his Innercity mix and he is one good DJ. As long as it is all ages then I am in...I am only 17, if its not then I will have to fake ID my way in. It's all good.

later
