Overall, the set is very airy and, for me, has a very interesting effect of alternating between a "feel-good" vibe and an emotional/passion vibe.

sounds like it's right up my alley. ;)

downloading now, will give it a listen either today or sometime this week at work.

Great! Thanks Myra, will appreciate your feedback.

ok my turn:

the "choir" intro felt completely unnecessary. started off a little too "prog trance" for my tastes but i liked the melody in the first tune. The Tom Middleton tune is when I really got into it. That bass-guitar sample for the bassline was delicious in every way. That, to me, should've been the opening track, really set the mood for the rest of the ride.
With Sam Ball you went back to the trancey side of things however it fit more here, and I guess tied in the opening track. The spotless mixing really helps the transitions so far. Using the whole "meat" of the track is really important - the fact that you mixed at the end of every track. I think cutting either Redroche or the Middleton track early would've killed the whole thing.
Dousk & Matt Rowan (along with Jaytech) are some of my favorite producers. I really like this tune here because it brings a bit of a tech edge, along with the drum patterns, and picks up the mood. The emotion changes but the idea remains - love it. Good job. However I think you fail to sustain it with Never A Right Time - the track itself is good, but is a step down from what I was feeling with the Dousk track. Maybe should've been played before it?... I dunno.
Love the Fassano & Rich track, once again you pick up the energy with it. This track would've been perfect right after the Dousk - keep the edge coming and coming.
The Timewriter track fits in well because it is, as I like to put it, relentless. It has a steady beat and groove to it, and really forces the energy to continue and flow. There are no big breaks for the crowd to catch a breather, a great dancing track. I felt like you could've got a big more of the mix into Silverlake Pills, but another great selection in tune.
You come back into your progressive trance theme with another Sam Ball track, which kind of wraps things up, finish with what you started. The outro is, again, unnecessary, doesn't really fit in with anything.

Overall - Great mixing, great tune selection, a few of the pieces could be arranged differently however the energy is there and the middle part of the mix was definitely my favorite. The intro and outro are not needed.

Since it took me so long to write a review I figured I'd make it a long/in depth one :)

Denys, wow, that was great. I really appreciate such in-depth critiques. Very much appreciated.

And yeah, that bassline on "Shinkansen" is amazing. :) Thanks again for the listen.

Here's a little "several people who were gonna listen and haven't yet responded" bump. :)

I've been listening to this mix in the car and I did enjoy it quite a bit... I understand why you would put in the choir at the intro and outro but like most here, It doesn't flow well with the rest of the mix... I liked how you ended with the same ball remix of new order... i really like that track since i heard it back in the summer on kosmas epsilon's august promo mix... good job on this one!

Thanks! I heard that track only recently on Sam's MySpace page and I sent him a message asking if it was going to be released or available for purchase, and he said it probably never would. So, I resorted to "acquiring" it by other means.

It would seem that the choir intro/outro is a bust, so I'll keep that in mind for my next mix... :)

Thanks, Jake! Yeah, that track is great. I wanted to use something that grabbed attention right off the bat.

Also, I'm still listening to your "Without You" track daily. Great stuff!

Giving it a proper listen now and writing as I listen.

First track, great intro, I don't know why you had doubts about this one. Very gentle melody and beautiful atmosphere. Great one !

Moving on to the second track, good mixing into it. Sweet tune, a bit more trancy than the previous one but still gentle and kinda relaxing. Good one.

Getting into third track. Again, great transition. This one is more energetic than the previous two. Awesome track, definitely my favorite till now.

4th track. Transition is perfect as always :D . A bit more housy than the previous ones but still good and fitting there. Enjoying it very much.

! Into the 5th track. Mixing is still solid. Still containing the more housy vibe. I like it. Definitely keeps me interested in what I hear. :)

Track six doesn't sound so good for my taste but it's still sounds ok in the overall set.

Next track starts bad but evolves into something sounding better than the previous one. Enjoying it. Some electro sounds which sound a bit too distorted for my taste but it's still ok sounding track. The guitar is nice. :)

Next track gets more interesting. Has a nice happy feel in it. I like it a lot more than the previous two. :)

I listened to the rest of the set while eating but it was excellent throughout. So overall the set was very good, I didn't like part of the middle. The first part was my favorite but all the rest is high quality too, just a matter of taste. Good job and keep up the good work. :)

Looks like I'm a little late to the party. I'm in now.

Magadansky, thank you very much for the in-depth (counter-)review. :) Appreciate the time you took to critique it.

Lebezniatnikov, lemme know what you think!

Loved it. I'm going to go against the grain a bit and say that I much preferred the beginning and end of the mix to the middle - one track in particular just got too techy for my tastes and got away from the groove that I loved about the rest.

The operatic intro was a class idea I think - it didn't *quite* mesh well with your intro track, but I love the innovation and hope you don't throw out the idea of trying something like that in the future. It was a near miss, but has a lot of potential as a concept. If I'm going to listen to a set in my room or my car I like to have that hook in a set that draws you in - the choir did this, but wasn't as effective as it could have been if utilized differently. I'm not sure if that makes sense. Loved the concept, think you should keep working on the implementation of it. The outro provided a nice bookend to the mix as well, which I liked. I think it worked better with the track chosen than the intro did.

Loved the Redroche and Timewriter tracks, as well as the New Order remix. Keep up the great track selection - I look forward to your installments. Between you, RJT, lucid, cmay, and a few others, this sub-forum has really managed to encapsulate what I'm into far better than the big jocks as of late.
