I don't really hate him. Hell, I've found a lot of great tracks from his sets. True the bigger you get the more people will vocally dislike you. It obviously happens in sports too.
But at the same time, if you're going to be one of the biggest in the world, you should realize that people will expect more from you...and you have to keep rising to the occasion. |

Let's not forget the utter wank sets from 2002-2006.
Terrible flow, track selection, not to mention trainwrecks.
Though he seems to have slightly refined himself since 2006. |

"I even found a name for this style of music: rocktronic."

go see him play in the states. his sets are so watered down its ing ridiculous. whenever ive seen him here it was total bull. not to mention the ing cash you have to dish out just to see him here. its not worth it. he doesnt even care when he plays here. no crowd interaction, doesnt build up his sets, nothing. just grabs the same 5 records that made him who he is, traffic, lethal industry, love comes again, just be, etc etc etc etc etc and presses play. he doesnt try anymore. |
From my experience I completely agree. Big disappointment. When I saw him play in Chicago, if I remember correctly, he went from the intro track, Ten Seconds Before Sunrise (awesome track, especially for the intro), right into "Andy Duguid Feat. Leah - Don't Belong". Can you get any more in un-epic than that? |

Resent is probably a better word. It's very frustrating to appreciate a style of music, and then have one dude misrepresent it to everyone else, to the point where everyone else considers him to be the defining pioneer of the style. It's also hard to take him seriously when he takes on the mantel so willingly, and puts himself in the spot of the progenitor.
In short, we don't hate him. We just wish he would shut up and stick to making mediocre dance music. |

That DVD was a huge disappointment in my opinion... a documentary focusing more on his rise would have been great, but instead we get the result of a cameraman following tijs around for a few months. |
