I use to hate Ozgur a long (long:D ) time ago, that was before i realized he was meant to fill certain moments in life.
For some reason he always fits perfectly when im helf depressed-half numbed and no one else can do 'numb' music like he can.

I disagree even more. For a few years when he was just trying to copy pop music, BT was pretty boring because he wasn't doing anything new or interesting, but This Binary Universe is a total reinvention of his style and a very ambitious record. I imagine you mean he's "boring" because you don't have the patience to listen to his music. |

Some of the replies to this post have been laughable.
Just because artists have a distinctive sound it doesn't mean they are boring. I certainly wouldnt call Joonas Hahmo or Moonbeam boring. They both have their own unique sound, which if anything, is the complete opposite to boring in the sense that they have managed to create their own style in a world where too many artists are copying from others.
And the fact that Ozgur Can has even been brought into this topic is ridiculous. |

All percussion in near every Ozgur Can track has a very "Ozgur" sound to it, and if people don't like it they're going to be very, very bored, very, very quickly.
And you seem to think that how boring a producer is relates to some objective "boredom ranking" - it's called "personal preference."
Not everyone likes what you like, nor are any of the statements you made likely to change the minds of anyone who previously thought Moonbeam and Hahmo were boring. Maybe they're "unique sound" is really just repetitive, dull, and disinteresting to some folks.

Moonbeam's Angels & Men was outstanding.
Since then i haven't liked anything they made. I guess its down to be oversaturated by the same sound. Granted they're very unique tunes, but they all sound the same = boring.
Same goes for Deadmau5. First few tracks top quality. Subsequent releases and remixes, are work commissioned out of that initial popularity and have therefore been e. |

This type of criticism is little bit like asking Rick Allen to grow another arm so he can drum more intricately :P
And, you don't hear many people complaining about all rage against the machine songs having the "same old" tom morello guitar work... must be an internet forum thing.
Most of the people who are writing tracks are writing them the way they want, the way the like to write them, and they're writing the songs that they feel convey their message most effectively. Yea we all get bored of someones style after awhile, but I can say with confidence that most of these artists we're talking aren't bored with their own.
It usually boils down to the perspective from which you're looking at/criticising a creative work. It's pretty easy to be critical from this (internet forum) perspective.
ps I still don't get the hate of all Prydz stuff. Tell me how Pjanoo sounds anything remotely like Rymd or Ironman or how either of those sound like Aftermath or Armed or Frankfurt or Human Behaviour or (insert other prydz track here).

Why make a thread on "most boring producer" and not on "most interesting one"?
and WTF, Ozgur Can was a legend of that atypical melodic prog sound which was championed by James Holden/Nathan Fake/Petter/Kosmas Epsilon back in the day (2002-2005). Can anyone remember that AMAZING ep of 2004- "Not Even Winds/Illusions/Questions"? Not even winds was almost prog-goth with the intense bassline, the haunting chords and the dark male vocal-amazing track. Then you had the hypnotic and trancey "illusions" and the weird but beautiful prog-trancer of "questions", with the trancey arpeggio and the obscure a-la nostalgia lead-line. This was probably my favorite post-millenium prog release right up there with James Holden's "A Break in the Clouds" and "Solstice/I Have Put Out The Light", Kosmas Epsilon's "Architech e.p" (and ofcourse "All Is Heaven e.p." and "Innocent Thoughts" were also amazing), Petter's "These Days/ Twist Moet", Nathan Fake's "Watlington Street e.p.". and Alex Stealthy's "Bermuda Triangle e.p." (probably some Benz and Md stuff as well and a few others that i can't remember right now...). Some of the best post-millenium prog without a doubt, ozgur was a legend.
What happened to that melodic-prog sound really? The sound that "Siver Planet" started (and was further developed by "Border Community", "Deep", "Release" etc.). That was an amazing sound indeed. Too bad that it never really evolved further. |

You're right, I miss worded it, what I really meant was his late work with Tiesto like Sweet Things and Break My Fall and including Emotional Technology, not including this Binary Universe. I meant to say "BT has been a true disappointment when it comes to producing DANCE music". I apologize.
And I will disregard the patience comment, cuz if that was true I wouldn't be listening to electronic music in the first place. |
