how to clean a vinyl record???

FASTDJMP3 and I want to know how to effectively clean a vinyl record..
clean vinyl such as fingerprints, dust, dirt... etc.....
ALSO what is the best way to protect some rare vinyl that dont get played at all????
just thought i'd ask here, cos you guys know about this stuff, and we dont!

You need a Velvet brush to clean vinyls properly and safely.
I suggest you buy the vinyl cleaning kit by Stanton, available in all good record stores (Do I sound like an advertisement? lol). Thats the kit I have and its spot on ;)
Rare Vinyl that dont get played? Do you mean like store them away? I have heard you can get some fireproof boxes for things like that if thats what you mean? |

| Another good way is to use Club Soda and a soft cloth. Just splash some Club Soda right on the record and then wipe off with a soft cloth........no .....it will get your vinyl sparkley clean........(I know some of you might think that I'm bullting you...but I'm not...it really does work) |

Yeah, I can see how that would work. But make sure it's CLUB soda (known as Soda Water in the UK) and NOT Cream Soda! You totally it up if you put cream soda on it. |
