Being a new forum, with a new moderator, do we have any suggestions to make our forum work better???
One idea is that we have places in brackets, for place specific events, as some of you may notice I have edited thread titles, and put them in ALL CAPS in brackets like
[LOS ANGELES, CA] or [SEATTLE, WA]
is this something that people would deem useful?? meaning that a thread without brackets is just a general non location oriented thread...????

hmm somthing that is on my mind, because changing peoples posts are very annoying, and if I did not have to I would not, and let the orignal posts be correct, do you think I should have an "Important: Look here before you post an event" sticky thread at the top of the page??
The items that would need to be included are:
A)the city
B)the state
C)all caps
D)brackets
E)would need to be included at the end of the thread(or should it be the beggining?? I like it at the end but we can put up a poll if there is disagreement)
I think if they are all the same it will be easier to navigate
[SEATTLE, WA] [SACRAMENTO, CA]
Is that a good style??? it reminds me of the airport tags for some reason :D

ehm also, I do not like "Sticky:" I think it looks tacky, does anyone have any problem if I put titles such as "Suggestions:" that is on this thread?? it makes the thread title bold, another advantage... and thoughts??

in order for the forum to be better organized, its a good idea to let ppl know, especially those who are new to the forum...and also it'll make it easier on yourself once the forum starts to grow

i seem to think putting the bracketted subject such as city and state in front of the actuall event. it just seems more organized that way
hope that helps!
cheerz! :D |

i think the brackets should go in front of the event too.. i also thing parenthesis stand out more than brackets do.. i think.. let me see..
(los angeles, ca) laylas home grown mary j party 4-20
[los angeles, ca] laylas home grown mary j party 4-20
hmm i guess either way.. as long as there is a space between the location and the event.
yes im anal ;) |

| making things too anal wont really stick, unfortunately. i know this from experience on nwtekno.. i tried to instantiate a rule that people needed to put [EVENT, DATE, LOCATION] in one of the forums i moderate in (event reviews), and it kind of works but you have to be lenient. as long as the person puts the event location (and preferably date), that should be good enough. trying to make them be caps lock or in a certain order just wont stick.. and it shouldnt be that important anyways... if i say seattle, wa - 12-30-02 - event name, its just as easy to understand as [SEATTLE,WA/DATE/WHATEVER] |

| well i think we are only concerned w/ the location here. so it shouldnt be that hard to follow. plus the moderator can go and correct what is done wrong. and theres a huge dif in trying to get a thousand people to follow one rule as opposed to 10 people. i dont think the issue is getting people to do it. i think its more how do we want to see it to make it most easiest for those browsing to find what they are looking for. |

as long as the current peepz in here stick to the rules, it'll provide the newbies with something to follow.

| Just put the location in the in the title. if you try to put all the info the title it kinda eliminates the need for the post. |
