Maybe he should go head to head with deko-ze, lol

I just think that if you're gonna put King of Afterhours you should "addy" in there as well. You should never assume that everyone knows who you're talking about, because I can guarantee you not everyone does (newbs just getting into the scene who might have heard an Addy set but didn't know he was considered so highly)

he's considered to be one of the main guys who made zone what it is today..

Are you kidding??? forgive me, I phrased that incorrectly.

Are you a KID??...?

Who were you actually trying to fool with your "save face" reasoning or "don't know " justification behind the proper usage of a promoter's usage of a promoting slogan "King of Afterhours"?

First, you offer your personal opinion on the finer points of proper promoting etiquette. I mean, since you seem to nominate yourself as a representative of the legendary acclaimed, longest running "AFTERHOURS" then I can't really fault you for that. But you followed that up with a presentation of the DO NOT'S of presumption with an example sinario in order not to confuse the "NEWBS" into misrepresentation, backing it up with your GUARANTEE for assurance, that the "THE KING OF AFTERHOURS" is really The King Of Afterhours. But just to make sure "THE KING OF AFTERHOURS" is really The King Of Afterhours, you lay down a challenge for him to go toe to toe with someone whom you think is "THE KING OF AFTERHOURS".

I have to start by clarifying the promotional method being administered is justified by the length of service Addy put into the so-called "THE AFTERHOURS CLUB" is a year shy of how long "THE AFTERHOURS CLUB" has actually been open which is roughly 10 years. Hence, the 10 Year Anniversary just celebrated last May of 2007. And to answer your discrediting ploy the go head to head with Dekoze, he actually already one up'd you on that idea. You see, not only is Addy label "THE KING OF AFTERHOURS" he is the brains behind the idea, at your "AFTERHOURS CLUB" of utilizing the concept of Dj's playing on Four Decks approximately 6 years ago. Several Dj's at the time, were new to this ability or has been able to perform this concept found it very challenging yet very enjoyable. And Dekoze was one of the many Dj's who was lucky enough to be able to do it with Addy. The other Dj's who mastered this technic with Addy are all at THE BASEMENT now. You know, you were there last week...

Music aside i've never cared for his music and probably never will but alot of people in the city do like hearing him play so good for him. Also at the end of the day he can promote his name and his parties anyway he wants too!

But if you ask me ... (and anyone is more than welcome to disagree with me on this, you can have your opinion and ill have mine) ...

I have always been of the opinion that if you call yourself a legend (or King of whatever), then you are not a legend. I don't really care who you are and what you have done. If you really are a legend your name speaks for itself and you dont call yourself "King of bla bla bla". From a random clubbers standpoint it sounds like hes making himself out to be so much better than any other DJ that plays in the city (which is laughable). That might not be his intention and I may be misinterpreting it, but when I see something like that it's what springs to mind. And that's why I think it's lame and tacky.

To further this, there are two DJS coming to play the Kool Haus next month who probably have every right to call themself legends or kings of whatever and yet I dont think either one of them have or would ever do that. Nor do I ever think either of them would call themselves the best djs or the best dj duo in the world. Can anyone picture a flyer with "the best DJ from Canada" besides Richie Hawtines name. Or "King of all NYC DJS" besides Danny Tenaglia's name or "The Godfather of German Techno" besides Sven Vath's name.

i couldnt agree more on the sydney blu statement. but addy has consistently been a staple in the underground and afterhours scene in toronto for COUNTLESS years. His name speaks for itself in the scene and now his production work is about to elevate him even higher than ever. Dude's got skill and talent, your right youll have your opinion and I'll have mine, but alot of people will openly back mine up. lool

His remix of Better Days with adam k is burning up the beatport charts as we speak currently #7 on the Electro House Charts so everyone MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT OUT!
