Mac Kids: Free image editing software?

I'm thinking of something along the lines of an open source and/or free version of photoshop - lil help?

GNU Image Manipulation Program is what it stands for. But yes, Rob is also a gimp. :o |

| It came pre-packaged when I installed Linux so I don't know how well it runs on a Mac. I've used it quite a bit. The layout feels just like Photoshop, and while it accomplishes most of what Photoshop can do, it does it in its own way. Basically, if you're looking for a good alternative it will suit you just fine, but you might have some trouble figuring out how GIMP wants to do it. |

Got it installed now - looks great, may take a bit to figure out, but it runs.
Thanks for the recommendation Jake - and do you have Linux installed on your iBook?

yep, gimp is pretty much your best bet as it is really the only free open source graphical 'suit' thats been in development for quite some time.
