...Deeman! You must have been a good boy in the last few days coz Karma is on your side. Aren't you playing between 12:00 and 1:00 at Roxy's Parlour?
Well, enough time to get your sorry little butt down to Hawthorn for this! ;)

I was going to go, as i think Zen Mechanics are awesome!

But after seeing the flyer that looks like an exact replica of the actual ticket in green. (The real ones are in orange) Hell no.

As much as i love Zen Mechanics, i'm not supporting a crew that stoops that low. Thats one of the wrst dirty tricks i've seen in a while.

...ooooh yeah! That was an extraspecial treat - and Wouter Thomassen aka Zen Mechanics has moved from my 10 most liked DJ's/Producers to the top 3.

The night started pretty relaxed and we arrived at the ROOM about midnight. The vibe started to unfold when Coomzy hit the decks. Quality mixing and sound but the track selection felt at various times throughout the set sort of monotonous (lacking variety or interest). Nevertheless, Coomzy has without doubt become one of Melbournes's heavyweights when it comes to the harder side of progressive Trance and his set was the first highlight of the night.

Then, Player One - (never heard or seen this dude before). He continued to build up the vibe with his very pleasing track selection but in opposition to Coomzy, he at times mixed a little sloppy and had various sound volume issues. Overall - Player One was highlight #2 and we look forward to see/hear him soon again - pure quality in progress...

Ultimately, the Zen came on to do his live set. From word go this dude transformed the ROOM into his own sacred chamber brimming with deep massive grooves, hypnotic geometric riffs and vast futuristic soundscapes. The switched-on dancefloor was one with the tunes almost instantly and he took us to his sacred places with such ease it was just about magic.

His skills as a producer and live performer are pretty much top of the pack and his track selection a very well orchestrated progress.

Tracks we recognised in no particular order:

Environmental Porn
Rumble in the Jungle - Behind Blue Eyes (Zen Mechanics Remix)
The Light - Ace Ventura (Zen Mechanics Remix)
New Propulsion Technology
Disco Pixie
Voodoo Bytes (we think...)

Transceilvania - we were hoping for him to play Psychotropical Nights but are not sure if he did now...
Also, would have been great to catch with you and your mates but not this time...

We met up with 'Light The Fuse' and James Brooke and what else can we say but that meeting these dudes tightend up loose ends and it felt strenghtening in relation to the progress of Melbourne's underground Trance scene. (Jules - you have not finished yet!)

Rumour also has it that Wouter Thomassen may soon be permanently residing in Melbourne - W00T, W00T...Benny - get your foot in the door early, Mate!:whip:

cheers for now - see ya next week at Interview's Miss Libertines event feat. Tom C.O.S.M. and then for sure for FATALI (OMG) on Anzac Day again at the ROOM.
