I don't beleive in the genetic aspect. I believe its all in the neural connections and developement. Identical twins have the exact same DNA so sexual preference cannot be encoded via dna. Its like saying your born to speak english. or speak chinese. Clearly you are not, its learned behaviour.
If one identical twin is gay, and the other isnt. This disproves the genetic factor.
Also we didnt see the dad, the mom looks like a big dike.
I have nothing against gays but looking at the facts, it doesnt seem to be a genetic aspect.

Lets look at sex drive. When people orgasm they get a huge rush of seratonin to the brain. If you inhibit seratonin reuptake with antidepressants to create an ample amount of seratonin, The rush is not there and one can lose their sex drive. This is a neurological fact.
While one is young, these synaptic neural connections are constantly being created and due to any sort of exposure, one may develope an attraction to the same sex. OR one may not develope an attraction to the opposite sex.
If you leave two animals of the same sex in a cage for long enough they'll end up having sex with eachother. So its not such a far stretch to beleive that humans can learn that behaviour too. After all we are animals. |

But they were both raised in the same house by the same parents (not different environments). How did one end up growing affinity towards barbies? If anything this case study does not prove either nature or nurture.
from Wikipedia regarding identical twins:
"Their traits and physical appearances are not exactly the same; although they have identical DNA, environmental conditions both inside the womb and throughout their lives influence the switching on and off of various genes."
So it could also be a combination of both. Obviously it's not just "nurture" because if that were true, then gay people would chose not to be gay under circumstances where being gay is not allowed (i.e. Iran where punishment is death). So I'm betting on this "genetic switch" interaction with environment.

But if that were true don't you think there'd be an equal amount of gays vs straights because any given child has an equal chance of being exposed to either sex?

Why should it matter? Is he asking you for cocaine or a gun? No, then who cares what color he wants? If you're worried he'll get rejected at school for his behavior then your only perpetuating the stereotype of "one-way" a boy should behave. I asked my mom for a my little pony when I was a kid. But then again I played with legos and set ants on fire in the microwave too. So who knows what that meant. But I didn't ask for cocaine or a gun. |
