pretty much bite your losses.

Make sure you always pay everything in Credit Card. That way you can reverse the transaction if the money doesn't come.

Only thing you can do is suck it up.

You can report it to the police or RCMP since they might already have a file on the person...

but as for your money, you're not getting it back...and if you do you should be VERY thankful

Kijiji is owned by eBay...did u use PayPal?

the police won't do anything for your 100$
the only point of reporting it will be to add to the statistic

if the police are getting numerous reports of someone doing this, they will investigate it.

It's pretty easy for them to get a warrant to take to an IP and found out where a posting originated from.

That is true, but doesn't mean that they have time. I have to deal with the RCMP from time to time but they just have so much bigger and more important things to worry...

Things just tend get lost under the piles of papers...

Easiest scam to pull off, gad. Print out several copies of ticket, sell dozens of them, get your ass to see show as soon as the gate opens, profit.

its 100 bucks, you got owned, deal with it and move on.

P.S. the cops will laugh at you.

+1

I've had this happen to quite a few people I know. Somehow ppl just don't seem to get it: don't buy what looks like a photocopy; it probably is.

The short of it is, you're SOL. And don't waste your time pursuing this, since in all likelihood you will not get anywhere. Realistically Kijiji can do nothing. At most, trace an IP from where it was posted, but without a court order, no way in hell you'll get that. And even if, it means nothing to you. The cops could do something, if most divisions in Toronto didn't allready have a fraud backlog two years long, and I kid you not. So yeah, sorry to hear it, but chalk it up to a lesson lived and learnt.

I'm pretty sure Kijiji won't do anything
but try nevertheless

What recourse do I have if my transaction has gone bad or if I have been defrauded?
If you feel that your transaction with another Kijijij user has gone bad or you have been cheated by a fraudulent Ad on the site, please let us know about it. If appropriate, you should contact the police to pursue criminal charges. Remember to trade locally and transact in-person to reduce the risk that your transaction will "go bad".

Does Kijiji offer any type of mediation between buyers and sellers?
Kijiji is a local platform to connect buyers and sellers. All transactions and the details of the transactions are completed between the two parties. At no time does Kijiji get involved in these details or the transaction itself. We do not offer any types of verification of who a person is. If you have any questions or concerns about a transaction please contact the other party and do your best to resolve the situation between the two of you. If you feel you have been defrauded, contact your local police department.

Can I scalp tickets on Kijiji?
Scalping tickets is against the law in many provinces. In those provinces, we do not allow tickets to be sold over face value. Since we can not know the price of every ticket for every event in every city, we encourage the community to use the "Report this Ad" links to notify us when they see tickets violating this policy.
