Thanks for link, but I'm afraid this is not the real set Oakenfold played at St. Petersburgh last year by this very same dates. This is Perfecto on Tour weekly show episode 27.

I remember that the real set he played at St. Petersburgh started with Armin van Buuren's "Miserere-Rush Hour (Original mix - Paul Oakenfold edit), almost in the same way he started his more than 3 hours set played at Hipodromo de las Amáricas, in Mexico City last november. And, as a matter of fact, if my memory doesn't deceived me, I think Oakenfold neither has played in Perfecto on Tour weekly show this Armin van Buuren mix neither at the beginning of any show.

Its important to say that this russian broadcast is the only other real Oakenfold live set from 2007, and was not broadcasted by Sirius. The other was a real Sirius live broadcast from WMC that is not the same as Perfecto on Tour one or two weeks after.

:haha:

Yeah, that's probably what I'm looking for. As far as I remember, in that Festval played not only Oakenfold but also Armin van Buuren and Rank 1, among others, but the only two sets that I hear some time ago where those from van Buuren and Oakenfold. I don't know if there are other sets from that music festival and who played. I hope you can upload that from Oakenfold.

This is what I got. Corect me if I'm wrong

does this even exist?

give me a sample of this song and show me proof of a vinyl or cd or sth that showing that this exist.

I highly doubt that Paul Oakenfold would disrespect 'Dead Can Dance' and make this mediocre stuff and actually disrespect it more and call it a remix and not a bootleg edit.

if he was responsible for this song then he's gonna lose 1 respect point from me.:conf:

How so Bloodlust?

I may not be understanding, but surely Oakey has earned the right to remix whatever anybody gives him permission to do!?

It may be a remix...but our choice is in not listening to it, not critisizing what they choose to remix??

Have I missed something?? :)

Ok then... maybe you are right. I didnt search very well. But tell me what is the difference between a bootleg and a remix I'm not really a professional ?

he's got more potential on making a better remix. if he wanted to remix any song then yes but dont make it ty and i treat everyone in the scene the same if its from a small producer and he makes a ty song or a great producer i dont care, if it horrible then its horrible, if its good then its good.

i dont talk much about svd's edits call atleast he called them bootleg edits and stuff like that most of them being but to call it a remix imho is a disrespect.

so if he wants to remix this go ahead ill be looking forward to his remix but if it comes out like this then i wont be congratulating the remix or worshiping it. u get the point.

yes he earned the right to remix anything he wants but what u mean its not our choice to listen to it and criticize it?

aren't we allowed to listen and have our opinions of certain songs?

i think so. if u dont like it, u got all rights to not support it and just give ur opinion to others by saying it wasnt that great.

well imo a remix should sound random sound with then a part of the song.

Timbaland fea. OneRepublic - Apologize (Svd Bootleg Edit)

thats a perfect sample of some random sounds attached to the song and just calling it a edit.

where as a remix should have more work to it. this song sounds like random sounds put into with dead can dance song not very well done to call it a remix more like an edit imho.

What I can say is that maybe commercially it doesn't exist this mix, but surely you can find it here and there (if you wannit maybe I can uploaded only to satisfact your curiosity or wathever). I think a weeks ago I find it and downloaded; but in fact what I was looking for was not this version, very poor (and I'm seriously doubt that has been done by Oakenfold, even if he played in some sets and carry his name because is not even his style, but this is something I cannot prove), but another one that I hear in a Voices of Winter album, I guess from 2003, where is the opening track, with great and symphonic arrangements, and a very deep beat. I'm still looking for that version, which is by any means absolutely superior to this hypotetic Oakenfold remix.

But I think that also concerning Oakenfold is that there is many remixes he uses that are imposible to find. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that are two Perfecto on Tour episodes where he mix a bootleg version of Comfortably numb. But surely thats why its calls bootleg, because its not even a white label. I remember have been heard in an Oakey live set from serious years ago a superb mix from another great Pink Floyd song, I don't remember exactly what song was, but I remeber that its from Whish You Where Here album, but once again, is a mix impossible to find.

In this very same direction, I remember that Oakenfold played at Mexico city, back in 2005, some mixes that he actually played that special night, and this mixes doesn't exist. First one, a special instrumental version from David Guetta "The World is Mine", that I only have heard that night and never heard again. But this is not so important. I remember that very same night he made an astonishing improvised remix from Queen's "We Will Rock You", with four albums (two vynils and two CDs) playing at the same time. I guess that that was one of the last times that Oakenfold played vynils in a live performance.

And if you remember some old live sets by the man himself, you probably will remeber that there is a set where he mix Barber's Adagio for Strings in Ferry Corsten remix with original mix or something like that from "Another Day" in hisd Perfecto remix or whatever he calls it from Skip Raiders feat. Jada. This specific live mix is important because within a two or three weeks he launch his Perfecto mix from this song, and in this live set you can see creative process at his best, or as own Oakenfold probably says, A Lively Mind at work.

And last but not least, one other thing; as we all know, he recently launch he's Greatest Hits album, a two CD and a CD + DVD according whit what you can find in recordstores, but in both cases, are double albums. But, once again, I find a triple album with many other mixes in an electronic versions (its obvious that its not a commercial version you can find in recordstores, because it doesn't appear in officlai web pages from Perfecto Records or Oakenfold), but once again, there are many, many remixes that its seems to be impossible to find if someone doesn't tell him that release them for all of us.

All this are only some few strange things that I have found within the running of time and it would be nice to find out what the hell is happening with all this things, and surely with many others. Finnally, If BloodlustShaman wants Dead Can Dance remix with this apocryphal Oakenfold signature, I can uploaded for you.
