Thinking about getting one of these to protect my gear but need a few answer i hope you guys can answer first.

- I'll be running Tannoy Precision 6D's/Tannoy TS10 Sub/450W PC/2x 19'' LCD monitors/and a few other bits of outboard rack gear

- Will it be safe running monitors/sub/pc on one of these??

- Will my gear be safe not using the manufacturers power cords??

- are the 'Furman PL-PLUS E Power Conditioner' any good??

Thanks in advance

If you dont experience brown outs or light dimming on a regular basis then you don't need a power conditioner.

Other things to watch out for are electrical appliances 'kicking in' and causing audible clicks/pops through your speakers. I lived in an old georgian house 2 years ago with the test electrics and the fridge would make my speakers emit a loud crackle every couple of minutes. So yeah, I didn't buy a power conditioner. Just waited for my lease to run out and boxed up my monitors in the meantime. Instead, I ran headphones from my PC's onboard soundcard.

PCs are generally quite robust because all the important bits are behind your power supply and that will go before anything else does. It might take other peripherals with it but its fairly rare and I've never had it happen even in that gaff with the crap electrics and my PC was on pretty much all the time.

Other stuff is just common sense - i.e. don't run a million electrical appliances on a single mains socket.
