My mate is looking to upgrade the anti-virus/security programs on his PC, any recommendations?

AVG Free edition. Look no further.
Make sure its the Free Edition tho, the Pro version charges. Only difference between the two AFAIK is that the Pro version gets updates a few days before the free.
Great program, effective and doesnt use a ton of memory. |

Plus, if you have an authenticated version of Windows XP, get Defender (I believe it's at the Beta 2 version right now). Decent firewall imo. Combine it with AVG and you've got the 1-2 punch. |
