It IS fun to go out, have beers, hang out with friends & party...absolutely! But partying entails some kind of sound going on, like, MUSIC!

But NOT listen to the music? What am I partying to then? Why am I going out in the first place?

Going out takes time, energy and most importantly (for me), money! So, unless the music will cater to my tastes, I won't go. Experiencing good music is THE reason why I go out. Nothing else. No good music = I won't bother.

If I'm NOT listening to music (commercial or not), then I'd much prefer to stay home, still hang out & party with friends, drink for MUCH cheaper than any club would ever be able to offer ANNNND get to listen to some quality music off my monitors from my music library...All of that means minimal money spent, less energy required and no time wasted.

So, yes, MUSIC is the whole reason why I give such a huge ! lol...I don't get up off my ass for much, especially not commercial music bookings.

I guess I'm part of an ever-declining crowd who actually cares about quality EDM. It's ok, I accept it. But, I guess, now you know where I'm coming from.

Still excited to check out the place :)

A +1 for that! It's all about the music :toocool:

trust me we all wish Aria was re-opening.

This will be totally different. It is more on the lines competing with Opera and stuff.

MONTREAL, March 18 /CNW/ - Groupe Laberge and TELUS are pleased to
announce an exclusive 10-year partnership through which a new venue for
artistic expression will be unveiled - Théâtre TELUS. Located in the Quartier
des spectacles in Montreal, the 12,000-square-foot theatre can accommodate up
to 1,200 people per event 365 days a year.
"We had been dreaming about giving artists and Montreal audiences a new
space since the Spectrum closed. The support of a partner such as TELUS will
allow us to create a new cultural destination in Montreal - the Théâtre
TELUS," declared Jean-Frédéric Laberge, Director of Groupe Laberge. "When the
Théâtre TELUS opens in April, artists, business people, residents and visitors
to Montreal will be able to enjoy a state-of-the-art cultural entertainment
venue."
Set up in the former Berri cinema located at 1280 Saint-Denis, the
Théâtre TELUS will be equipped with the most innovative lighting and sound
technology, providing top-notch acoustics. A full televisual production and
live broadcasting studio will also be integrated.
"Just like TELUS, the Quebec cultural community is passionate about
growth. By working together, we will bring our artists, creativity and the
innovation for which we are known to a broader clientele," confirmed Karen
Radford, Executive Vice-President and President of TELUS Quebec. "Over the
next decade, the Théâtre TELUS will be a testament to our commitment to the
5,000 members of the TELUS team in Quebec, to our customers and to the
visitors who will enjoy the Quartier des spectacles."
Featuring a mezzanine, the Théâtre TELUS will be a versatile and
multi-dimensional space that can be easily adapted to the specific
requirements of all forms of artistic productions and corporate events.
"The TELUS and Groupe Laberge partnership that will see the creation of
the Théâtre TELUS is excellent news for Montreal, and we hope it will inspire
others. I am very proud to see the private sector help our cultural community
to thrive. As a cultural metropolis, commitments such as these provide
critical support to the 2007-2017 action plan of Rendez-vous Montréal," stated
Isabelle Hudon, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Trade of
Metropolitan Montreal.
As work is already underway, the official opening of the Théâtre TELUS is
expected in mid-April 2008.

Groupe Laberge

Groupe Laberge is a family business that has been involved in
entertainment and has been a player on the Quebec cultural scene for over 30
years. Owner of Le Dagobert, a Quebec City show bar, Lamouche, an upscale
lounge in Montreal, and having conducted large-scale events in various venues
in the city and capital region, Groupe Laberge will soon inaugurate the
Théâtre TELUS, its own venue for shows, thanks to the invaluable support of
