Science vs. Creationism (pg. 3)

I've said it before and will say it again, Intelligent Design is nothing more then an attempt by uninformed religious zelots to poke holes in evolutionary science. These people are completely misguided by their steadfast belief that every word in the bible is absolutely true and correct, which no rational person could ever believe. Since ID is nothing more then a weak critique of something else based not in fact or logic but believe it most certainly cannot be considered philosophy.

I really don't get ID at all, even the motivation for it. It seems the IDers believe that evolution is in direct conflict to religion... it isn't, not even close. If you drop the ID bull and actually look at the creation MYTHS from which ID is based it is pretty easy to see that each of these (especially the Abrihamic) are really good allagories for the process of evolution... really, if you had to explain the big bang and then evolution to a bronze aged human, wouldn't you use a similar allagory?

I agree, its a moronic idea, but one that also has a torrent support from the religious enclave that is the entire united states save a couple eastern seaboard states and california. the great ron white once said "you can't fix stupid" but ID has definatly proven that you can create stupid.

Since the thread changed focus from Creationism vs. Science oddly enough to Religion vs. Science, as much as athiest despise religion, interestingly enough most scientific thought is indirectly a by product of religion, with the exception of the modern era. That's simply a fact, in the sense that majority of the foundational work and inovations in though came from heavily religious societies, who also gave you your modern institutions. So it's always amusing to see athiest and their hatred for organized religion completely overriding their rational thought process and acknolwedgement of historical record of the developement of human thought.

I'm not downing religion. I already said it is great for controlling idiots. It just isn't for me.
To me churches are just political entities and should be treated as such. Need a hookup... join a church. Need to find a new female to ruin... look at church. Etc...

Organized religion certainly is, but so is Atheism.

To me atheism is almost its own religion in the belief of non believing.

I really need to get these videos on my ipod and instead of arguing the same point over and over again just show these to people that keep annoying me with their misguided beliefs.

Any body notice how science-fiction novels are more scientificly believable than creationism?
