Private Function & Pretty Simple pres. PF#38 - Chris Fortier (USA) - 22.03.08 - Ffour

After a short time in the wilderness, we'd like to officially announce that we're back – and what better way for PF to return a little more regularly to Melbourne's musical calendar than with the help of an old friend.

It might have taken a little while, but it would seem that Chris Fortier has become a bit of a Melbourne favourite. Since first playing at Private Function back in 2004, Chris has returned to play with us almost every year, continually pushing things forward and testing the boundaries of underground sounds – a truly progressive artist in the truest sense of the term. It's been an exciting few years for Chris on the production front as well, with the release of his debut artist album "As Long As The Moment Exists" (released through Melbourne label EQ no less!), and the impending release of "As Long As The Moment Remixed" a remix album with contributions from the likes of Joel Mull, Pheek, Selway, Perc, Error Error & Joey Beltram. We look forward to welcoming Chris back behind the PF console again. With a 3 hour set, who knows where he'll take us this year.

Joining us also will be Emerson:Murat from Sydney. They're part of the Reckless Republic crew and the musical backbone for two of the best parties in Sydney at the moment (from our point of view at least) in Lost Baggage & Spice. With Murat having made a couple of trips south over the years to play at Sunny & Darkbeat, we're excited to have them both in town at the same time this time to deliver their unique brand deep & twisted sounds.

Supporting Fortier & Emerson:Murat will be Dean Millson & Dave Pham.

Out in The Suite, we're turning back the clock a little and dishing up some old-skool progressive breaks. Yes we remember those halcyon days also, back between 2003 and 2005 when Melbourne's soundtrack was surely the likes of Nubreed, Infusion, Habersham & Numinous, Digital Witchcraft, Shiloh & Andy Page (just to name a few) week in, week out. The sound was a very important part to PF's musical history & we've invited two very worthy purveyors in Keltec & Stuart McKeown to take you on a trip down memory lane (for those of you who are lucky enough to remember anything at all ;)

Entry will be $20, or $15 on guestlist–email [email protected] for guestlist action & we'll make sure you and your crew are sorted.

See you on the dancefloor, yet again. It's good to be back and we've already got some exciting announcements in store for 2008.

Stay tuned...

PF Crew.
