I have a little problem.
I'm going to do the warm up for a trance party. The problem is that until now i always was the main dj, so somebody else warm up the place.
I have some ideas but a little help would be much apreciated.
I want to do this withs trance tunes with a low bpm, something in the middle of house music and trance, something with a clear beat and many vocals. The idea is to create a story and get people to the flor.

Not at all - tech house or techno can work really well, even the right tech trance tracks slowed down a bit can work perfectly. Loads of nights used to (and some still do) warm up with funky house or breaks...

I've seen someone do an old hard house set (tracks from '96 - '98) at 135 bpm as a warm up for a trance night, it actually worked really well (but that takes some serious skill!)

There really aren't any rules of "only play this genre" - imo it's a matter of finding stuff with a nice groove without too much going on and without much of a hook (as discussed in the other thread), and that sort of thing exists in any genre.

Warming up doesn't have to be prog, far from it in fact.

I sometimes find that a lot of prog warm ups can become quite lethargic and one sided.

Like Stu said, breaks, techno, funky house, disco house, Electro the world is your oyster. Keep in mind that you don't want to exceed the tempo of trance and make sure that you keep it fun and interesting.

Tracks/Artists I have used in the past in warm ups range from stuff listed below.

Gnarles Bootley - Crazy (Bootleg)
Zero - Emit (Rennie Pilgrem Remix) Used to drop that all over the place and people tend to respond really well to that track.
Stuff by Sander Klienenberg
D. Ramirez tracks
Dallas Superstars

My warm ups are very different these days but enjoy it and entertain.

Cheers
