My guess its a combination of most of them being heavy users as well as dealers and also they are always worried that some dopesick sketchbag customer of theirs is gonna be out of cash and in need of a fix at 3am and will come and pistol whip them for their drugs (actual scenario that happened to an OC dealer I knew lol)
Unfortunately that is a drug that very few people can remain a recreational user of. Dealing with addicts is a whole different ballgame.

Yeah, in my opinion it is a dangerous drug. I'm not saying it is not recreationally fun but the potential for harm outweighs the benefits. There are plenty of other drugs out there that are just as fun but also a lot less likely to kill you.
The drug has a sharp dose/response curve where the difference between a recreational dose and blackout/GHB poisoning being as little as a few drops of liquid. Additionally, the same amount of the drug can have seriously different effects on different users.
The last time I ever took it everyone I was with took the normal dose, one cap full. Shortly after we took it my girlfriend told me she didn't feel right and something was wrong and then passed out. I posted the whole story in another thread once but the long and short of it was in short order she stopped breathing and probably would have died were it not for our close proximity to the life squad/hospital. She was not mixing it with other drugs or trying to take a heroic does, just regular use of a normal amount that other people took all the time.
Also I personally had some sketchy experiences with it where I got delayed onset of the effects, like delayed hours, long enough that I though it just wasn't going to do anything tonight so I got in the car to drive home. Quite an unpleasant experience when it finally kicked in during my drive.

oh, you said she didn't mix with other drugs, i presume youve included alcohol in that term.
to be honest, ive taken too much ghb many times.. normally its just a two hr nap, sometimes a bit more.. then there is the times ive accidently taken too much (like drank 2 dl mixed with fanta) and had to go to the hospital..
still, there's only one buzz/sensation/whatever you want to call it, that even compares to what ghb makes you feel, in my opinion.. and that is ketamine..
while i highly enjoy benzos etc, i try to stay away from them, cus they get me into way too much trouble.. i become a mean, stealing little punk who wants to fight.. and thats not fun is it? lol :P
