| You know, this thread reminds me of a litle something I've never been able to understand: How come there's no "White Fever"? These "Asian" girls do date "White" guys, right? And how about the numerous "Black" guys that marry "White" women? Don't these people have "White Fever"? Or is dating "white" people some sort of default behaviour? |

I know, there's been an outbreak here in Brazil... but, for such wordplay to exist, there must be something about the culture that is able to give it a new meaning. |

No, I had never heard it before. Just looked it up on Wikipedia, and now I'm even more puzzled. Are all these "interracial" relationships only labelled according to the choice of the white person involved?

The terms were created and used mostly by whites, so that's about what you would expect, no? They were the ones fretting the most over "miscegenation." |

I think I've fixed it. But, the fact that maybe we're both white (Are you white? And am I white in the US?) still gives us only a partial picture of the problem. Is this anxiety over miscegenation a "white" thing then? |
