| His sports movie schtick has worn off completely, I hope Hollywood has figured that out with the low box-office numbers Semi-Pro is producing. |

Semi-Pro was funnier than Anchorman or Old School by leaps and bounds.
In my opinion, it's easily the best "stupid humor" movie he's ever done, but then again I've never thought that highly of Old School, though Anchorman was hilarious.
What's funniest, however, to me is how clear when reading this thread that Will Ferrell is the Deadmau5 of comedy - and how predictable the responses were in here. I genuinely think some people just have a macro programmed that instantly churns out "_______ is ing awful. He only did ______ that was decent, but I even got tired of that. _______ should be shot out of a cannon into the sun!" :p
Par, course, etc. |

HAHA! Well said. He is better served in those eccentric cameo roles he shows up in. For example: Chazz in Wedding Crashers, the biker gang dude in Starsky & Hutch, and as the S&M funeral director in Drowning Mona (a dark comendy hidden gem).
I feel the same about Ben Stiller... I'm sick of seeing him play the underdog cheeseball romantic comedy roles. |

It's true. He's been in loads of ing awful movies - as if it wasn't painfully obvious before "Blades of Glory", I imagine there couldn't have been much doubt following it.
Still, that doesn't mean he can't churn out something reasonably hilarious every once in a while, and for one reason or another I just thought the character of Jackie Moon was pretty well perfect for him.
And I still think Ferrell is hilarious in general, just far more so 10 to 12 years ago than now - and being beaten over the head with the same humor from him for the past five really, really killed my interest in him for a long time. Semi-Pro didn't exactly make me want to go see everything he's done all over again, but I still thought it was ing hilarious.
