he's actually really really decent and played really groovy techy stuff last time he was at stereo. zero cheese, proper tight mixing, good flow, nice tracks.
would defo go see him again.
(maher i might need you to back me up on this :nervous: :p) |
I'll back you up..I was there too. :D
Wasn't planning on going to see him at all but it was one of those "We're drunk and wanna continue partying, what to do..where to go" situations and ended up at Stereo for Benassi. I must say he surprised the hell out of me and I thoroughly enjoyed his set...glad I went. :)

Running on about 2 hours sleep now, but holy crap.
The "queue" (line up) had literally hundreds of people in it, all from different parts of Europe so the 2 hour wait wasn't unbearable because of some of the people I spoke to. Very friendly bunch, and of all the people I spoke to they ALL knew A LOT about the Djs and the music and what not, I was very impressed to say the least.
When I say I waited 2 hours, it was probably a 5 hour line up but some sort of promoter guy heard my accent and asked if I was from "Americer" and I said no, I'm Canadian and he was like "oh right" and then gave me and some French guys I had met some "Jump the Queue" passes and we walked right in pretty much.
Drinks and inside were pretty cheap actually, a pound or two for beer depending on which kind, I didn't try any other drinks so I don't know how much they would have cost.
There were waaaaaaaay too many people in there but it was pretty tame regardless, no hooliganism like Brits are known for. You had to wait a while to get in between rooms which was a pain but worth it.
Whoever the openers were, they were crazy good, if I know most of the tunes they were playing.
Crazy sets by all the headliners, I didn't catch much of Hawtin mind you, was too busy switching between the rooms, but it was crazzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
More to come once I've recharged me batteries, yeah. |
