US gallon = 3.785 liters
5.5261 Euros/gal
5.5261 Euros = $8.71

Big difference given their infrastructure over there. They actually have a public transportation system that works! More people use public transportation than cars.
And I'm gonna bitch as long as the price if diesel is over $4.00!!!!! That's a buch of horse hockey!!!:whip: :whip: :whip: |

Actually, what I meant by infrastructure is that gas is not as readily available over there as it is here in the US. They don't have 4 gas stations on every corner like we do. So simple supply vs. demand dictates the increase in their price. At the same time, the governments have done a good job of setting up public transportation that is affordable.
Public transportation to Europe is how gas is to us. It's a necessity and not a commodity. I would imagine if their rates on public transportation were as volatile as our gas prices here in the US, they would have the same complaints as we do on gas. |
