Hi. Over the last couple of months, I have been messing around with Virtual DJ and want to take it a step further. I am doing this only as a hobby and so far do not intend on performing any gigs. That being said, I am pretty comfortable with the Virtual DJ software and am planning on buying a mixer. I do not know much about DJ sets, but after browsing the internet for months, it seems like I need a mixer and a sound card. A lot of people on the internet have mentioned the Hercules mk2 or something and have given it good reviews for a beginner, but for some reason i don't think its of very good quality. So i am basically looking for suggestions as to what equipment i would need keeping the price in mind. I can't just go out and buy any mixer obviously.
I am new to this forum and so have not contributed a lot out here, so i appreciate anyone willing to help.
Thanks. |

there has been a lot of these exact same threads in the past month or so... use the search.
cdj- 200's and an xone:32 is what i would recommend if your tight on money. |

| Do you want to use a software solution or a hardware solution or some combination of the two? |

| Thank you for the response. I have been looking around this forum, but most discussions relating to beginners are about cd players and mixers, or turn tables and mixers.I'm only looking for a mixer. I've had a look online at some stores as well, and i just want to know what mixers can i connect up to virtual dj. I looked on their website and couldn't find a list of any sort that detailed the mixers that would work. I also am assuming i would need a sound card. I have no idea about sound cards so if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. |

| If you're going software only +mixer, then I'm afraid I can be of little to no assistance. :( I'm just using turntables and a mixer, so I suppose I'm rather old fashioned. |

| Any "midi controller" will work. Google X-Session Pro, Xponent, or Behringer BCD 3000 for starters. They all will link up with VDJ through usb using midi. |
