Your a douche bag.....he doesnt only play trance, reason being, if he played trance for 2 straight hours, ppl would get bored, and turn it off.
And the music as a whole puts you into a trance, it doesnt necessarily have to be trance playing for 120 minutes.
Word on word play, ASOT....trance music, and the mood it puts you in.
Now go do your homework.
And if this album had NO vocals, you guys would still bitch about it.
And how does vocals make a song pop?
I never would of thought Touch Me by Armin should be classified as "pop".
TA never ceases to amaze me with the ppl that dont know anything about music. |

going wrong just entered 5th place in the Dutch top 100 charts... i guess some people like it.
I guess u make an album with a certain mission and point of view. IF his point was to make an album that is both trance and pop and commerically attracting for many non-die-hard trance listeners... then he achieved that goal. Which is a very valid goal indeed, because as no 1 dj of the world you want to reach as many people as possible... and ofcourse per track you can argue whether its done well or not, thats personal preference, but as a whole i think the album will succeed in its goal.
It doesnt matter what the album would have been like because it would have been bashed whatever it would have been.... and this point is a non-arguable one. |
Cannot believe the amount of stupidity that comes out of your brain, with this comment right here being the epitome:

What does being the #1 DJ have to do with producing an album? |

| From the samples it sounds better then 76 but Idk id rather wait to hear the "FULL" album before judging |

| I dont know about being better than "76", but better than Shivers, for sure. |

if you dont see that relation you are just about as stupid... incredibly narrowminded.... i dont even bother explaining because its too obvious.
ow well.. in short then. Being voted number one DJ is not purely based on DJ skills as everyone knows. It includes selling your name as a brand, including productions, albums, dj gigs, big parties, a record label etc etc etc.... One of the essential parts of staying in that position is getting your name out to the big audience, by for example releasing commercial albums.
Well, there is the relation of being number 1 DJ and producing albums, wasnt so hard was it?

He could well be the worlds number-1 dj and come with an awesome trance album full of innovation, groundbreaking sounds and new more coplex and honest melodies.During the 70s Pink Floyd used to make massive gigs in the pyramids with lasers and stuff, and always had this forward-thinking art-rock space sound without the need to sell-over in order to sustain their big name.
Yes, you can be a big name and you can choose on how to sustain/promote your "bigness". You could either be No.1-name by choosing the "Hard way", which is pushing boundaries and creating something trully beautiful and artistic (and hence you have a higher chance for history to mention your name) or you could either choose the "Easy way" by giving the masses what they want, pleasing them with your "one-trick" methods over and over again. Yes, its not hard where Armin falls on such a hypothetic scale... |

comparing with pink floyd is quite unrealistic ofcourse... pink floyd is legend. Trying to be innovative (as main focus point) wont get you to the number one DJ spot.. not these days. |

Apparently you missed the memo that said DJing and producing are not the same thing. A DJ is someone who mixes records and provides a string of music at parties, not a moneymaking machine, even though that's what your beloved DJMag wants you to believe. Stop trying so hard ;) |
