The thing that annoys me about beatport as I've said a million times is their wav pricing. As someone earlier mentioned bandwidth is cheap. The "wav handling fee" should be lowered or they should switch to flac. Dancerecords selection isn't nearly as deep, but the do have some good stuff, and for $1.39 a wav it's a no brainer imo.

The best part about Beatport is the interface, its what brings in the traffic which in turn brings in the artists and music which in turn brings in more traffic.

Business wise If I was Beatport i would be licensing out the interface/software to other music sites, its awesome to navigate and enticing to purchase from. Actually If I was running Beatport I would make a Beatport for all Indie/Underground music.

true, beatport's interface looks nice, but i have a lot of issues with it when I use it - always freezes up on me and i have to reload/renavigate to where I was. the lack of a wishlist is also pretty bad from a usability standpoint, but i'm sure it helps their sales.

traxsource.com works just fine.

I don't they are really charging ou more for bandwidth, but the fact that it's the premium quality version of the song. Want premium quality, pay premium price.

I'm not saying I support their pricing, just saying that's how they could see it in terms of business practice. Otherwise, everyone would just download the WAVs if they had HD space.

one thing that really annoys me in beatport is that you can't enqueue tracks in the player. if i want to listen to every release on a label or every track by some artist i have to wait one sample to finish and then go click on the next one. would be much much easier if i could just throw everything i want to hear in the player and then when i hear something i like i could mark it up or put it straight in my cart.

IF theres two things I can complain about beatport is...1) Certain territory restrictions on some tracks...2) When previewing the song, sometimes it cuts it right @ the peak of the breakdown...NOT COOL!

People will boycott just like they've effectively boycotted the oil companies.

LOL retards.

Maybe now with these changes the labels will have to consolidate and we'll see better average quality in each release.
