Brilliant. I've not been clubbing for a while, as a result this was my first trip to Magna, fooking awesome venue. The room upstairs was in a part of the old steelworks which has not been converted. Very atmospheric.
Orkidea - Fantastic melodic prog trance stuff. Perfect warm up.
Schulz - Great chunky stuff with real emotion. One disappointment was a remix of cafe del mar which was sounding great but after the break just became boring prog tech with no sign of the melody or chords, just a hint in general prog / techness would have been eneough!
Ferry - He's never let me down and he didn't this time. Simply stunning trance all the way through. Towards then end dropped eon - pocket damage followed by out of the blue. Naughty............
Jules - arrived, I immediately went to check out the other room and get some pizza. Came back when he had 20 mins ish left and it was actually really good what he was playing. Very very chunky hard trance and tech trance.
Halliwell - Ok. What this guy does technically is stunning and very interesting to listen to. But for dancing, it was way too stop start.
Canned the night at 04:30 and headed home into snow. I still miss Republic though : (
Can anyone recommend where I can get set track lists for Orkidea and Ferry?
Thanks

I would have stayed if someone better than Eddie and Ron Van Gelderan (sp??) were on.
Overall very good night though. |

| Went to the boxing day event and manga is an awesome venue, would love to have heard ferry play there. Saw him at slinky last weekend and he blew the place apart. Loving that ode to 99 tune and his mental missing skills during out of the blue. |

Awesome night, I'm travelling all the way from Vancouver and if I
could get anything remotely close to this at home, I'd feel as in heaven. The crowd was amazing, you Brits make a great party :) |

I was so disappointed that i missed Orkidea, i saw him at Off the Rails last year that was awesome, can't beleive the bloody queuing was awful...as usual GC can't organise anything properly...
Schulz and Ferry i enjoyed. Although i thought Jules and Eddie were a bit too techy for my liking, Eddie is a total enigman to me - why must he always mess around with the tracks, sometimes its ok - but every single one?! I went to the classics room at that point, was good fun in there, if a tad cold lol...
Will be defo going to the next one. Just hope for no Eddie or Jules to be honest. |
