What a silly argument. So just because Transformers was a cartoon that means there is no need for good acting? Do you feel the same way about comic book movies? Batman was a cartoon too, but that excuse was never used for Batman Begins, a comic book movie which had damn good acting.
As for the storyline, you're wrong. It's not even close to some of the storylines from some of the animated Transformers shows.
I was a huge Transformers fan back when I was a kid and I felt insulted watching the movie, as it was a big dissapointment for a lot of fans. The graphics were amazing, but that's about it.
The acting could have been much better, and the storyline could have been a lot better too.

I watched GI Joes when I was very young, I don't remember if snake eyes talked but those two actors would make a ninjas look cool :D
I just saw that video of all the actors/actresses in the movie, damn it's full of hotties and doesn't every video game/comic book movie always say that they're gonna try to stay true to the original story line?
