I find it funny how people like this try to be big-tough-guy-badasses on the internet.... usually very weak people in real life

no.. they're just stupid ignorant people that don't understand how the human brain and body work.

Yes, they are stupid and ignorant in terms of simplfying the situation to 'this person could deal with their problems do they took the easy way out'.... obviously it is far more complex and deep-rooted than that

EDIT: and my previous point was not with regards to the fact that the guy is against suicidal people.... it was more with his 'go yourselves' at the end which really sets me off... big tough guy running his mouth on an internet forum....

WHAT a beautiful lady,, My deepest sympathy goes to the Kajouji family

good on swamper for doing the 1 week ban,, fighting like sash and xavier is childish. That horrible post by Minhaj should be edited for respect of nadia.. for her family to somehow (I bet they won't see that post, hopefully) will see that.

TA -don't be mean kids!

R.I.P.

Very sad outcome :( I had been following this on facebook. I will admit though, that I thought this was what might have happened. A break in the ice on Rideau is all it takes :(

R.I.P. Nadia :(

Me too... you could read her brother's posts often on there and it brought you closer to the drama.

Brampton teen had online suicide chat - The Star

quote:

Family of missing Carleton student says teenager had been urged to kill herself in front of a web cam

In the weeks leading up to her disappearance six weeks ago, Carleton University student Nadia Kajouji had a disturbing online conversation with a woman who encouraged the Brampton teen to kill herself in front of a web cam, her family says they were told by Ottawa police.

Police unearthed a series of online conversations between the 18-year-old and a woman believed to live in Minnesota, say the teen's father and aunt. The last took place just hours before Nadia disappeared.

The woman, who apparently suffers from depression, encouraged the troubled teenager to kill herself online.

"(At one time she asked) Nadia to post a web cam in her room so she could watch," the teenager's devastated aunt, Candita Martens-Mills, charged yesterday. "It's – it's repulsive." ...

Capo di tutti
I can understand suicide when it comes to the mentally ill.

Being close to a few people in my age group, some who have taken their own life i had a glimpse of what they go through.

When meds don't work, therapy, special attention or anything else does not help...they lose hope, and in many cases can't control their own thoughts...imagine that, a prisoner inside your own mind that you have no say of what to think or feel or when or when not to.

Who would want to live through that.

The catholic church has even changed it's views on suicide and has become sympathetic. I attended a funeral few years back of someone who was a little younger than me and had taken his life, it was bizarre to me as it was a catholic service, most churches 10-15 yrs prior would not conduct a service for people who had committed suicide as its seen as one of the worst sins.

anyhow, i sympathize for this girl and who knows if its fair, to assume all these what ifs, when maybe not living this life was the best thing for her.
