Trance is like cars...........Dont Buy American

I tend to feel the same way about the way most Americans critique trance musik as a whole. I am from the states (Chicago) and had these types of views earlier when I first landed in the Trance genre.
Americans on the most part (mainly the ones that listen to all radio tunes) are not upto par with their music. They are stuck in a certain hole. Example. Here in northern Illinois there is only one station that plays dance music. Those of you here know how much e that 92 7&5 plays.

It all comes down to one thing. PP. Personal Preference. I just hate to see so many of my fellow Americans dogging Tiesto and so uch of the rest of the world loving it.

ummmmm, well, i know more than you think i do. i loved tiesto for years, but he's been striking out lately. i must admit, the isos cds, in my memory, and some of his livesets are great, but the last batch of remixes have left much to be desired. dmb one was good.

don't underestimate how much americans know about music.
and, don't try and smooch asses with foreigners either.

i will admit, american trance for the most part, sucks.
but we can still enjoy armin, ferry, hybrid, etc.

tiesto is due up at the plate with a 1 for 5 (DMB)

tiesto aint my cup of tea at all..

but

it is clear that he is way overrated by some.

he doesnt do anywhere near enough to justify the recognition he gets.. he is slated by many outside of trance and it is easy to see why

also

remixing picotto and vice versa really shows how much he has yet to do.

all his latest stuff has been imo .

Obsession i thought was OK it was the only decent track on that album and since then hes done all... and people naming this as an example of a new track.... erm reality check.. its over a year old.

He doesnt DO anything

and he plays the same set week in week out for months.. then he will get a new batch of tunes and do the same.. he also prepares much of his set before he goes on to play which is totally amateurish and 'bedroom dj' like.. he is also a pretty poor mixer especially when he tries to incoroporate techno into his sets just because its the 'cool' thing to do at the moment.

its a pity he and the people who follow him cant stand back and see the big picture and see tiesto's place in it.

This is true.

When Tiesto came out with IN MY MEMORY, I liked it a lot...not every song but it was still cool. Why? Because it was different.
I also liked the DMB remix he did to "Space Between...". Doesn't mean I will like every remix or track he puts out! For instance, his new remix of "Can't live another day" by Avalon is total arsche lecken!
But seeee, I think it's good to test different styles and be different...whether I will agree with it or not at that moment....you don't want the same thing all the time....it gets so boring IMO! He might be sucky now for some, but for others, he is awesome! He is at the peak of his career! And it doesnt hurt to try different styles to gain more fame. The guy is awesome nonetheless, a bad day or not, he pumps a crowd!
But hey that's just me!

'when the track is good.. and i like it... its good to do a remix... its good for the profile'

*paraphrase.

hahaha nice one tiesto

I liked the remix of We Are All Made of Stars. Turned a e tune into something a bit more. Not a classic but good.

Ok, here's the problem alot of "trance addicts' seem to have. Because you don't like the track, or style of a song, you bash it and say the producer sucks. I think that Tiesto's remixes/productions are all quality, but each one appeals to a different audience. People who like his Moby & DMB remixes, might not like his Dallas 4pm or Lethal Industry tracks. To each their own... but one thing is clear, Tiesto doesn't put his hands on much that can be considered . Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's garbage. I like the fact that he changes his style, instead of getting caught up in the same sound or sample. Atleast Tiesto isn't remixing a ing Britney Spears track for MTV, or that would be cheese.

I've liked all his latest tunes, Dallas 4PM I've had for like 3 months now :D, Lethal Industry is amazing :D, the DMB and Moby mixes are not classics but are quite quality :D
