My Headphones Broke After 1 Year... And Guitar Center Gave Me My Money Back

Yup!!! That's right folks!!!
My Pioneer HDJ1000 heaphones broke after 1 year of use. Lucky for me, I bought the 24 Month Replacement Warranty for only $20 more. I called Guitar Center and they are mailing me a check for the full amount I paid. No questions asked! So, I'm getting the Sennheisser's HD25!!!!

I have been so impressed with GC that thats the only place I EVER by anything audio. Hell, I eve bought my last Macbook from them. They ALWAYS beat prices, guaranteed, and in my experience it hasn't been some bull 10 bucks cheaper, I've always had the go 15 or 20 percent to keep me as a customer. They have an awesome credit program too. They have nifty gifts (like buy CDDJs and get a FREE hardcase and FREE monster cables, that was their deal like 2 years ago in Tucson). Theres really no where else, in my opinion, to buy.
Hell, they even let you bring in a record bag or CD booklet and play around with their DJ gear to help you decide what to buy. |

I'm just really, really shocked to see all the love - I've had nothing but problems with them since day one. Won't ever buy from them unless I absolutely need something now and they're the only place I can get it. |

could be the sales guy u dealt with. If u make a big deal out of it, I'm sure they would take care of u. |

Yeah - I've never met a GC employee I liked either, so that could have something to do with it.
When I tried to take care of my headphones though, they gave me the number to call to cash my warranty in, and when I called the lady said that because the failure didn't affect the "function" of the headphones (One of the earphones just slid right off - like it wasn't ever attached :wtf: ), it wasn't covered.
If you ask me it sure as hell affected how they function. :( |

I get the occasional GC ad in the mail from them, but that's it. And I don't mind at all, really... it's kinda like softcore porn. |

I got nonstop calls from them when I bought my CDJs, because it was the kids first time doing a half credit card / half financing purchase or something, he kept going back and forth from the desk where I was being rung up to some other part of the store. He gave me a ton of paperwork when I was done, which turned out to be every single paper regarding the transaction (even the stuff I had to sign) and the only thing he had left was the application pamphlet for the financing that I filled out, so that was the only way he could contact me because it had my phone number on it. He was bothering the out of me and didn't seem to understand that I didn't want to drive all the way out there (at the time the nearest GC was about 30 minutes away) just to clear up his mistake, and I'd get there when I'd get there.
That is my only bad story about GC, but getting 2 CDJ-200s for $650 outweighs that. |

Exactly my view as well. If anything, at least the Sam Ash near me will more willingly price match off the net. My local GC wont even price match authorized resellers. :whip: |
