Regardless of it's popularity, 'SandStorm' is an amazing song. (pg. 5)

*snip*

Are you saying 2 Unlimited's influence can no longer be felt? You only hear a minimum of three of their songs at any sporting event. ;)

Indeed there are some more impactful songs that helped create future EDM listeners...who now listen to today's upfront EDM music.

La Bouche - Be My Lover
2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This
2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone (Mortal Kombat)
Prodigy - Firestarter
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up
Kai Tracid - Liquid Skies
and more...

It wasn't great, and it's certainly dead a hundred times over, but it wasn't bad either. I'm still surprised how much play it got on American radio, for a minor anthem trance production from Finland.

Paul Oakenfold Creamfield Essential Mix for me...

I always hated Sandstorm with a passion.

We had to listen to it for a year non-stop before it even went mainstream. And then 3 more years after that.

No matter how mediocre it appears to be, Sandstorm did gain incredible popularity in places where electronic music never went mainstream. Perhaps it got lucky in its timing of release and correct marketing? Or maybe americans were just ready for some fresh music?

funny part for me is that i still meet people who don't know the track, but don't know what it's called, and certainly have never heard of darude.
