moby on 'last night'
'"last night" is basically a love letter to dance music in new york city. what i love about the new york approach to dance music is the eclecticism and the open minded-ness on the part of the musicians, the dj's, and the people in the bars and clubs. in making 'last night' i essentially tried to take a long 8 hour night out in new york city and condense it into a 65 minute long album.'
you can download the last night sampler free from moby.rcrdlbl.com

I listened to all the samples on Amazon and found nearly everything to be very bleak.

The sample for I Love To Move In Here sounded good, but then I heard the full track and it changed my mind.

Moby's still got some good tracks in him. I was pleasantly surprised to hear this.

"Everyday It's 1989" and "The Stars" are really feel-good, fun little "oldies" and "I Like to Move in Here" is definitely a nice groove.

Compared to his previous *belch* albums, I think this is pretty good! :toothless

"I Like To Move In Here" is definitely my favorite of the bunch, "Disco Lies", "Everyday it's 1989" are good too...a few sound like he's trying a little too hard to be old school. But when he's on, HE'S ON and it's fantastic :D

I Love To Move In Here is great and so is Sweet Apocalypse, just to name a few. Good album.

Agree, not the best work but positively worth the $9.99. The Stars track at I believe at 1:30 or 2:30?ish is MASSIVE. His ambient/chill track Degenerates #11 and on is still the Moby I love. And of course, I love to move in here-All in all, very blotchy, hit or miss.As someone said, when he's on, he is ON though.

It's been years since I've heard a Moby tune this infectious!

Very nice album. Perfect for someone who has mood swings, has little bit of everything.

Tracks that stood out for me :

1. ooh yeah - Very nice vibe

2. Alice - very well produced with a hip hop scent that was just perfectly utilized.

3. Mothers of the night - This track really makes you think about your life, about your goals and your past, for some reason it just absorbed through me.

Recommend this album.
