So nobody heard Jennifer Rene's set at all? Was that second room really empty or not busy the whole night?

The GF got to enjoy both Jennifer's and Blakes because she was too busy gazing and got held up by the fire martials. LOL She was stuck over on that side for over an hour because of her infatuation with Blake. I told her dumb ass not to leave my side. She is still kicking herself in the ass for missing over an hour of Armin. She did say Jennifer played well though but that most were too busy being pissed off about not being able to get through to see Armin that they didnt show much interest in hers or Blakes sets while they waited in line. Id have loved to see her play the main room but didnt want to miss out on seeing Armin take the decks as the GF did.

Hello everyone! In spite of a few complaints with the night, Armada Night turned out to be an awesome way to spend my birthday night!

I finally made it to Parkwest at 1:30 AM. As much as I wanted to get there earlier, I had to head back to my hotel from Ultra for shower, change of clothes, and power nap. The taxi cab ride took forever. As soon as I made it, I was told by not-so-friendly security staff that I had to stand in the regular line, since the club was overpacked. Yes, this was the line snaking down around the club into the back parking lot. My advance ticket didn't seem it would get me in after all. After a few minutes, I struck up conversation with a couple from Brisbane, Australia (Kris and Tracy) and with an university student from Ireland (Mel). I was quite entertained for the next 90 minutes while the line slowly crawled to the door. As luck would have it, a friendly and professional guy in a black suit took the next 20 people (including me and my new friends) into Parkwest through the back entrance.

By the time I made to the side bar on the left side, Armin was finishing up his set. I was not too heartbroken about missing out most of Armin's set, since I really loved his set @ Ultra earlier in the day! I simply went crazy when Armin dropped Breakfast - The Sunlight! That was so awesome! While Armin finished up his set, I caught up with Trudi and Lindsay, two Canadian trance fiends whom I met @ Space during Ferry Corsten's set.

Markus Schulz took over the decks after 3:30 and delivered a phenomenal set! Even though I was a little sore from earlier in the day, I found myself back in the dance floor again and again! Among the tracks that made my night (from what I remember) were Cause You Know (Nic Chagall remix), Fly To Colours (Genix remix), Perfect, and Three Drives - Greece 2000! Awesome! I absolutely lost it again when he dropped some bangin' remix of As The Rush Comes! Right after that track, I was losing my energy bit by bit. In spite of the fact that I drank only 2 Skyy 90 on the rocks and plenty of water, I couldn't muster the energy to dance. I was forced to leave at 7:30 AM and I wasn't happy about that.

As I later heard from my Canadian friends, Markus closed his set at 8:00 AM with one of my alltime favorite trance tracks (G&D remix of Way Out West - Mindcircus). I was disappointed that I didn't catch the end of Markus Schulz's set. At the same time, I was also very happy that I saw Markus once again! It definitely beat being stuck in DC this past weekend!

All in all...it was a great night in spite of the lengthy wait outside, the rude security staff (a few friends were hassled for leaning on the VIP couches), and the overextended VIP section which took away space from dance floor. The only staff member that earned my appreciation was the Venezuelan bartender who served my vodka. IMO Parkwest may be a beautiful club (loved the LED tubes on the DJ booth), but Twilo was much better!

And one more thing...shoutouts to sweetcandygirl, ambs, Noel Sanger, and Jennifer Rene!

Cheers! :D
