i guess ohio is one of those states that makes you use 2 plates.. i hate that..
but you need to get rid of that border plate in the rear.. its a driving advertisement for that dealership... i hate that when dealers put their name on your car... its not paying them thousands of dollars is enough..
get something snappy... even another VW border plate is better than a dealership plate thingy... |
Since im in cali i guess i could take the front one off? They only require the rear one right?
I keep meaning to take that damn border plate off but never get around to doing it. I been looking on ebay i saw a nice chrome one that said GTI. |

I wish I could say that. Got a fix-it ticket (in california). Only ten bucks.. but it was a hassle to fab up a mount and wait in line at the police station. |

lol im not saying some cops dont cite for it, as i know people that have been cited for it. just saying that more often than not, my case included, you dont get cited for it at all. |

truth.
even though my car is from a dealership that i'm happy to support, their logo is so ugly that i spent about an hour outside in the cold rain one day scraping off the decal from the back of the trunk lid. of course it didn't help that all the letters were in so many different pieces so i couldn't take it all off in one go.
those are so much worse than the license plate frame. |

I don't think i'll take my chances since I got some illegal tint on my front windows. Pulls me over for my plates and ends up hitting me on a whole bunch of , i just might have to run!

Lol, what did you use to take them off? I used dental floss in a sawing motion. Took off my GTI and 1.8T oh and the VW to paint it black. It did take me some time taking off the 3M tape they used.
Goo Gone ftw |

they were vinyl stickers so i just used my fingernail to lift up the edge and then pulled them off slowly.
i used fishing line and Goo Gone when i de-badged my Grand Prix years ago. i love the styling of the VW emblems though so i'd never even think about taking those off my Jetta. |
